Amidst the awesome horrors of Honshu’s 9.0-Richter-level earthquake, tidal wave [tsunami], deaths, homelessness, radiation scare, famine and blizzards, killing 20K and devastating a further million, the Japanese were properly given great credit in the West for their discipline, stoicism, altruism and general lack of looting – and for having had the good sense to have underpinned Tokyo’s buildings in the 20th century with springs and shock absorbers (Observer, 20 iii).

Nevertheless, Japan’s thinkers had failed to join the dots between quake and wave [which inundated people in low-lying areas and mountain valleys which actually raised incoming water levels], and between quake and radiation [Fukushima’s reactors were a terrible 40-years old, yet the Japanese had ignored several radiation leaks from power plants that had occurred because of minor earthquakes and tsunamis around 2007].

And, more generally, they had missed [perhaps because of their biological rootedness in rice growing] the Western understanding that it is not clever to live near the water level. It was rather like the longstanding neglect by the Chinese of the centrality of the sun [China’s thinkers were taken in by the proximity of the moon, to which they attributed more causal force]; or indeed like the neglect of the g factor in China and Japan (and of course the circa-2000 West). Countries could be intelligent and even conscientious; but without independence of mind, criticism of dogma, imagination and serious freedom of expression, progress would be inhibited and disasters would occur.

Meanwhile, in Britain, the BBC suspended a TV producer (of the highly popular series ‘Midsomer Murders’, set in English villages) who had responded to a question about why there were no Blacks in his programmes by articulating the alarming-to-PeeCee truth that there were no Blacks in real English villages. By 2011, peecee folk had their own way so much – believing life was full of surgically created transsexual pseudo-mothers – that they were, in their hysteria, probably genuinely shocked and moved to tyranny by the slightest mention of life’s most simple realities.

The West’s ill-considered war ooops no-fly-zone on Libya began in suitable confusion, with the amphetamine-fuelled ‘rebels’/Benghastlies (including al-Qaeda goons fresh from fighting Nato in Afghastliland) shooting down one of their own few planes and beating up dirt-poor Black mercenaries whom they had captured, with Col Gadawfu stressing his Muslim credentials (which he had played down for the previous eight years), and with the West’s key ally, the Arab League (represented by its Secretary General), going into shock as the West interpreted ‘no-fly-zone’ as giving it the licence to bomb all military installations, all ships, all armoured vehicles, all roads and anything else (presidential palaces, presidential compounds and secretarial harems, presidential washhouses, favourite presidential restaurants, Pres. Gadawfu himself [this target agreed by British though not by American media militoids, 21 iii....]*) giving help or encouragement to the enemy.

Meanwhile, China waited to help Gadaffi (a personal hero of Saint Nelson Mandela), Mugabe and other modernizing dictators to recolonize Africa for it in return for Libyan oil.

* Within the day, British authorities were actually at odds with themselves, with Downing Street and the Ministry of Defence insisting the UN declaration did allow the targeting of Gadaffi and the Chief of Defence Staff, Sir David Richards, insisting it did not. (For similar incoherence in Washington, see Wall Street Journal, 21 iii.)

The reason why Russia and China had abstained from the UN resolution was suggested by Speccie correspondent ‘Mike’: As Napoleon said, don't interrupt your enemy when he's making a mistake.

48 hours after the ‘Allies’ began pounding Libya, there was still no sign of any contribution – military,financial or verbal – from any Arab country (despite Arab regimes having invested heavily in Western and Russian military hardware for a generation). But a small UAE contribution came later.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy’s effort to suck up to the ‘Arab Spring’ (by bombing a few of Gadawful’s 800 tanks) did not impress his fellow Frenchies who, in local government elections, voted as much for Muesli-bashing Marine le Pen’s National Front as for Sarko (Guardian, 21 iii, Pierre Haski).

With Nato providing the al-Qaeda rabble with a top-grade airforce, Gadawfu’s military suffered a week of reverse in the east of Libya. But it remained unclear how the West’s state-employed verbal geniuses would be able to explain that the UN’s no-fly zone included the bombing of 1.3M-strong Tripoli – where the till-recently-lefty-loved Mad Dog would have dug in (at least if he had heeded my pacific advice to settle for a federal Libya).

Mirabile dictu, top Grauniad columnist Peter Preston thought there was good sense in providing separate ‘academic’ and ‘technical’ schools (21 iii) – as had Sir Cyril Burt and the rest of the London School, though Preston preferred to avoid such embarrassing detail.

After two decades of Salman Rushdie and myself being hounded by the hypersensitive ‘victims’ whom we had offended so badly as to merit condign punishment, the cowardly intellectuals who had failed to stand up for Satanic Verses and The g Factor found themselves subject to ever-new censorship and threat, as Speccie correspondent Lois McEwan observed (23 iii): “Fear of giving offence is making publication increasingly fraught: to submit to some competitions or publishers it is now necessary to tick a box to certify the work 'is not offensive'. To whom is not clear. Only the bland will survive.”

The daughter of Jean-Marie Le Pen, Marine, 42, intelligent and presentable in polite society, began to win a few kind words from the Speccie (24 iii) and plenty of electoral support in France (see previous). Criticism of the criminality, incestuous forced cousin marriage and low IQ of other races, was absolutely out; but Marine offered repeal of ‘birthplace rights’ to French nationality, a ‘French First’ policy for the dole and welfare queues, and a gentle policy of coffee and liqueurs for boatloads of North African intending-immigrants while using the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier [recently seaworthy] to nudge their boats back towards their tribal homelands. – Whether this would be sufficient to handle the million refugees that French and British idealism was about to unleash from Libya remained to be seen.

After a generation of Phil Rushton having been reviled by lefties for ‘prurient’ interest in penile size, IQ and Blackness, the net delivered a helpful diagram: See here. Yes, though methodological issues remained unconsidered and referencing was patchy, the Congo was the winner, with many central African (esp. Sudan) and South American countries (esp. Ecuador) not far behind; but the Anglo-Saxon peoples acquitted themselves pretty well, apparently outclassing the Irish-influenced peoples of the USA and Australia, not to mention the Russians and Chinese.

{One theory was that denizens of the frozen areas of Ice-Age-challenged Asia and the windswept lands of the Celts needed to develop more compact, easily-blood-supplied okay smaller penises so as to avoid the risks of frostbite.}

Unhinged Black-adopter Madonna’s $15M gift of an ‘elite’ school for girls in Malawi was withdrawn (to much local wailing and gnashing of teeth) after $3M had been found to have been flagrantly wasted by the greedy and reckless Black and homosexual managers which she had put in charge of the operation (Guardian, 25 iii).

America’s 50-year quest to achieve racial harmony seemed to have hit a brick wall as there were reports of random street attacks by Blacks on Whites, and balaclava-hooded members of Anti-Racist Action and One People’s Project were urged by the social networking site Twitter hosted comments on the topic ‘White People Stink’.

Likewise, the ethnically mixed Ivory Coast continued to go downhill, with a million people fleeing its economic capital, Abidjan.

Although just about everyone in Britain must have known that south London-based champion ‘carer’ [for his wheelchair-bound wife] and father of eight, Delroy Grant, 52, sentenced to at least 27 years jail for scores of rapes and burglaries of elderly people over a 20-year period and known to terrified London oldies as ‘the Night Stalker’, was Black, the pious goons of the BBC’s flagship Radio 4 concealed this fact from its audiences.

Challenged on this by a caller, the Beeb’s first response was that "the police didn't tell us" -- when it was obvious from court reports (and BBC TV news coverage); next, they opined that it was "illegal" (i.e. "racist") to report on a convict's race! They didn't appreciate the caller’s point that "racism" is not a crime -- only the breaking of the Public Order laws is a crime.

Then came the final stage. "Should the BBC say when a person is White?" they asked. This was easily dealt with by the caller: "Yes, if you like, but can we not assume a person in the UK is White unless we are told differently?" The Beeb didn't like that either and hung up.

As the TUC bussed 200K protesters to central London to protest about ‘the cuts’ (which were miniscule and had not even begun) and to trash shop and bank frontages in Piccadilly and Regent Street, a fine visual aid was provided not only as to the left’s economic illiteracy (for Britain was in intensive care) and political thuggery (running rings around police while they smashed anything in sight – including ambulances) but also as to its hopeless vanity – for, summoned by his paymasters, adenoidal schoolboy not-New-Labour leader Ed Miliband compared the protest to those by screeching suffragettes and anti-apartheid wreckers of old (himself waiting doubtless to be crowned as a new Saint Nelson Mandela).

The riot saw even Britain’s supine peecee police, while allowing ten million pounds of damage and 80 injuries rather than bring out water cannon, make 200 arrrests in the course of the ‘demonstrations,’ under the leadership of pre-Thatcherite public sector trade unions, turning Saint Mililitre hopefully into into a terminally unelectable Kinnochian figure.

A fine summary of Italy’s predicament, divided between its German north and its ‘Egyptian’ south [the corrupt, lazy ooops laidback and mafia-terrorized ‘Mezzogiorno’], was provided in the Sunday Telegraph (13 iii, Nick Squires, ‘Why Italy has so few Italians’) as Italy marked the 150th anniversary of its rebellion (against Austrian rule) culminating in the imposition of a French-backed Sardinian king (Victor Emmanuel II).

Apparently “patriotic fervour in many places [was] in short supply” and British historian David Gilmour (author of The Pursuit of Italy) observed “there’s not much to celebrate in terms of Italian unification when the second most powerful party [Hugo Bossi’s ‘Northern League’] intellectually rejects the idea of a united Italy.” As Austrian master-diplomat Metternich once put it: “Italy is nothing more than a geographical expression.”

The ethnies of ancient Islam also proved robust as Sunni-led Saudi Arabi poured thousands of troops and police into Solunni-led suburb Bahrain to help put down Shia rebellion (in the name of the ‘Arab Spring’ but in fact fuelled from Shitite Iran).

In Libya, the ancient rivals of Tripolitania (west) and Cyrenaica (east) shaped up for ongoing civil war. {The main question was whether Col. Gadawfu, having retaken the western coastline would be mad enough to attack the million-strong once-royalist and now-rich 700K-strong city of Benghazi that was quite self-sufficient in food, Libya’s major port, had its own heavy industry [esp. the war-time vital concrete], was easily supported from the Med [Crete only 250 miles away], and pretty defensible (as Brits and Aussies showed vs Adolf and Benito).

(The rocky desert around B and Tobruk had loads of boltholes suitable for snipers, anti-tank roadside bomber operations etc. – as seen in the classic War film ‘The Desert Rats.’) If farting Muammar G went in, against a big city where every man sported a gun, it could be Stalingrad all over again; and, unlike flatulent Adolf H, G had only some 220 tanks and two frigates.

I pacifically advised G to offer the Benghazis a federal constitution for Libya to be worked out by his well-paid experts at the Libyan ooops London School of Economics.... But, as of 14 iii, with typical Arab incompetence, the rebel army did not appear to have made any significant preparations for Benghazi's defence.}

In the Sudan, refugees fled fighting in the oil-producing area of Abyei as conflict over the break-up of the country into its Muslim north and Christian/Animist south edged closer (Times, 15 iii). And in Ivory Coast (q.v.), the UN said civil war between Muslims and Christians was increasingly likely – 400K people having already been displaced (75K to Liberia).

The equally ancient problem of gypsy ethnics surfaced in Britain as Basildon Council [Essex] resolved to use police to move on 200 ‘Irish travellers’ who had made the town a hell-hole for the past ten years – the operation was to cost taxpayers £18M (Sun, 15 iii). {And where would the gypsies end up? Not in the Pakistan from which they anciently hailed, unfortunately!}

In response, defiant members of the 500-strong traveller community occupying Dale Farm camp in Crays Hill, near Billericay, threatened to "bomb, gas and burn" bailiffs sent in to spearhead the £18million eviction. The travellers accused Basildon Council of "ethnic cleansing" (Sun, 16 iii).

All the while, the politicians of Britain – and of the rest of the West – were forbidden by guilt-imposing PeeCee to decide which ethnics, leaders or policies their countries would back. The result? Ridicule from everywhere – as even Saudi, producer of 12% of the world’s oil and thus relying on US protection, had to make its own military moves to squash Shitites in its backyard and preserve the base for the American Fifth Fleet.

It transpired that the ‘subprime’ account of the world’s 1996-2008 economic bubble&crunch (backed by Steve Sailer, myself and occasional others [e.g Lord Bob Skidelsky, John Gray, Alan Greenspan, John Lanchester; see previous], and blaming the bubble on politically enforced lending in America to useless Blacks and Hispanics) still had another top-level supporter. Ex-PM Gordon Brown, who had steered Britain and the world through the momentous day of 8 x 2008 when the world’s banks were within hours of crashing, told Der Spiegel (22 ii):
What really sparked the whole thing was the subprime crisis in America. But what people hadn't yet realized was that half the subprimes had been sold into European banks. The banks were undercapitalized, and they had a lot of impaired assets on their balance sheets.

Head lice (‘nits’) became endemic in some British primary schools since teachers were no longer allowed to inspect pupils’ hair – under paedophilia-preventive ‘no touch’ policies decreed by peecee paedohysterics (Times, 15 iii). With nit control left to families (often Black single-parent mothers), children, even if cleansed, found themselves re-infected with nits as soon as they returned to school.

As America’s left moved tirelessly to limit speakers’ rights to criticize opponents and even their policies (most lately branding all unwanted speech as ‘incitement to violence’ and urging ‘common sense restraints’ on even remote incitement), some welcome words of reproof came from columnist James Taranto in the Wall Street Journal (16 iii, ‘Why toleration of outrageous speech is necessary for political freedom’):
Political freedom is much better served by a regime of near-absolute free speech than one that attempts to impose common-sense limits on speech. This is for two reasons. First, exhortations to respect common sense--defined by Merriam-Webster as "sound and prudent judgment based on a simple perception of the situation or facts"--presuppose that one has discretion over one's actions: "If you post that on your blog, you'll look foolish, Prof. Leiter. That's just common sense." It's too vague a basis for making legal rules, which require the drawing of clear lines. The First Amendment, in fact, is such a rule, designed to limit government's discretion in policing speech.

Second, common sense is too easily swamped by senseless intellectualism. The experience of generally free countries that do limit speech--including Canada, England and many Continental European lands--is that the limits are dictated by political correctness rather than common sense. The same is true of American institutions of higher education.

After two weeks of Daft Dave and most of the Western media trying to support the ‘Arab Spring’ Libyan rebels of Benghazi, it turned out that LSE-backing Col. Gadawfu was probably right in claiming to be a friend of the West in its (strangely prolonged) struggle with the battyboys of OK BinLiner and al-Qaeda. On a per caput basis … twice as many foreign fighters had gone to Iraq from Libya – and specifically eastern Libya – as from any other country in the Arabic-speaking world. Libyans were apparently more fired up to travel to Iraq to kill Americans than anyone else in the Middle East. And 84.1 per cent [74] of the 88 Libyan fighters … who listed their hometowns came from either Benghazi or Darnah in Libya's east.

As Britain found its air force slow to get Brits out of Tripoli, its (apparently friendly-intended) Special Boats Service mission to Benghazi imprisoned and its humanitarian team of dog experts refused entry by Tokyo because of uncompleted paperwork, its own citizens in ‘Arab Spring’ Bahrain who phoned the British Embassy for advice were told “We are not taking calls.”

{There was a time, in wayback Britain of the 1970s, when your phone would be cut off if you declined to answer calls. But, by 2011, the arrangement was that firms could bombard householders with unwanted coldcall advertising at any time of day or evening; in return, callers to firms and state authorities were unfailingly played ‘soothing’ Haydn music while their calls remained terminally unanswered.}

Nothing daunted, Britain (together with France) led an idealistic charge at the UN to give Col. Gadawfu a few pinpricks while piously declining to get Western hands on his oil. Notably, the ‘BRIC’ countries of Brazil, Russia, India and China, together with Germany, declined to get involved in this bizarre exercise of handing the Near East to the Muslim Brotherhood (Voice of Russia, 18 iii).

Meantime, sensing America was having to back the ‘Arab Spring’ so as to preserve President Obarmy’s ‘changemaker’ image and perhaps his Muslim plan for the future of Europe and the Jews, hundreds of noisy demonstrators popped up in the streets of the Yemen and Syria and were shot down in some numbers as America protested their human rights.

At home, American national suicidal lunacy continued (Numbers USA, 15 iii). A new report by the Center for Immigration Studies found that 200,000 children were born annually to women who were lawfully admitted to the United States on a temporary basis. These 200,000 children received automatic citizenship to the United States despite the mother’s allegiance to another nation; their future was thus secure whether as welfare-dependents or highly paid traitors.

In addition to CIS’ finding on births to foreign visitors, the report also found that 300,000 children were born to children of illegal alien parents each year. Of the 200,000 children born to visitors, CIS found that in 20% of the cases (39,000), the mother came to the United States for the sole purpose of giving birth—a practice known as birth tourism. Another 20,000 births were estimated to young foreign women who reside in the United States for temporary stays of multiple years such as students and guest workers.

One top American was unimpressed by Obarmy’s late-in-the-day decision to support Libya’s ‘Arab Spring’ (and risk the oil disappearing to China in a new Nazi-Soviet Pact). Mrs Billery Clinton said she would not serve under Mr Obama for a second term. A source close to her said: "She is not happy dealing with a president who can't decide if today is Tuesday or Wednesday" (Sun, 19 iii).

The incompetence and incoherence of Western support for the ‘Arab Spring’ was were in evidence as the leaders of the ‘Allies’ proceeded to lunch in Paris while Gadawfu ignored his own ‘ceasefire’ and swiftly sent his tanks into Benghazi.

And no ‘no-fly-zone’ was declared on attacks on mad Mueslis in Pakistan: even while the UN was voting to impose a no-fly zone in Libya, at least 40 civilians were killed in another US drone attack in Waziristan (Guardian, 19 iii)....

After lunch, the Allies (apparently to be funded by the dictators of Qatar and United Arab Emirates) poured 150 missiles into Libya, apparently thinking the UN ‘no fly’ declaration licensed widespread damage to Gadawfu’s military installations (BBC World Service, 19 iii, 21:00); but this was not before Gadawfu had got his tanks into Benghazi to prepare for a Stalingrad-style scenario. Libyans fled in all directions – presumably aiming for Europe if they could.

Mad Dog Gadaffi promised to issue his many enthusiastic supporters with guns (e.g. in 1.2M-strong Tripoli). Just why he was not allowed the luxury of suppressing his disorganized and bin-Liner-backing rebels remained a mystery – for China was allowed to suppress Tibet, India to suppress Kashmir and ageing dictator Robert Mugabe to suppress virtually the entire population of ‘Zimbabwe’ (aka Southern Rhodesia).

Whether the ‘Allies’ realized that weakening of Gadawfu’s rule would yield vicious ethnic/tribal war in Libya was also unknown – they were in hysteria about the future, telling journalists, but not the UN that they wanted ‘regime change.’ (Presumably BRIC had abstained with some delight at the thought of the West getting bogged down in Benghazi.)

What was the right jail sentence for full-on penetrative sex (i.e. ‘rape’ by paedohysterical standards) with a 12-year-old girl at midnight in a public park? (Admittedly the girl was willing, indeed keen for attention from her selected footballer to judge by her previous emails; and she pretended to be 16.)

Well, the answer at Reading Crown Court was ‘2 years’ – the sentence given to each of six Reading FC soccer trainees for a group session with two 12-yr-old fillies (Sun, 19 iii). Two years! (One year after remission for good behaviour.)

Many an elderly choir master had been driven to suicide for far less than rape. Yet this case was comprehensible within Britain’s peecee framework – for no less than four of the six ‘rapists’ were Black.

Researchers James Thompson (UCL) and Heiner Rindermann (U. Technology, Chemnitz) estimated (apparently from new data) that for each point of average national IQ, countries’ GDP was higher by $229 (£140) per head (D.Telegraph, 19 iii, ‘Intelligence linked to the prosperity of a nation’, p.19; Association for Psychological Science [America]).

Reeling from its declared 700 no-go zones (Muesli areas which police and firefighters would not enter except in extreme circumstances), the French Republic found its new National Front leader, Marine Le Pen, more popular than any other politician – having 23% support in polls, compared to 21% for centrist President Nicolas Sarkozy and 21% for socialist leader Martine Aubry (Observer, 6 iii). Since the young Marine had taken over as NF leader from her father, she had played down her party’s traditional Judophobia and instead played up Islamophobia – a shift towards IQ realism.

Having effectively outlawed references to Blackness, yagness, IQ or handicap (at least if remotely derogatory), Britain took the next logical step of banning critical reference to nationality (Sun, 7 iii):
A FOOTBALL fan is to appear in court for making an alleged racist comment - after calling a player FRENCH. Everton [Liverpool Protestant] supporter David Sibson, 57, was thrown out of their Goodison Park ground for shouting that the team's French striker Louis Saha was "a useless French lazy b******". He was reported by a fan sitting nearby.

Mr Sibson had his season ticket taken away by the club. Police investigated and he now faces a public order charge before JPs. The ex-MoD worker, of Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire, said: "I'm facing a criminal prosecution just for calling a Frenchman French. If that is racist, then I suppose I'm guilty." An Everton official said: "It's not simply a black or white matter. We'll stamp down very hard on racial abuse of any kind."

After years of egalitarian talk, environmentalist attitudes and waving goodbye to academic freedom, Britain’s universities got their punishment as they were obliged to wangle their admissions criteria to take in yet more kids from Britain’s failed state schools in ‘poor’ areas and from ‘care homes’ (Guardian, 8 iii).

{Would they use IQ, which would be one sensible way of proceeding to handle politicians’ demands for ‘widening access’ regardless of actual attainment? Some hope! – Their lefty staff would have heart attacks.}

The uselessness of British non-selective state education (in failing to provide opportunities for bright but poor kids) was further testified as Tesco announced it would be advertising for managers among the better-educated and better-behaved adolescents of Slovakia.

As a Muslim fanatic, Emdadur Choudhury, was fined a mere £50 for publicly burning two large poppies on Remembrance Sunday (in Poole, Dorset) (all the while screaming, together with pals, that British soldiers should roast in hell), Brits asked themselves what they would have been fined for burning a copy of the Koran – and knew the rough answer and saw exemplified the ghastly anti-White regime which Britain’s political class had set up over the previous 45 years (BNP, 7 iii).

(The Muesli’s risible fine was to come out of his £792-per-month state benefits. He had not even bothered to turn up in court for his trial.)

Always required by PeeCee to support the underdog (preferably Muslim, as in Bosnia, Kosovo, the Holy Land and Ivory Coast*), the West found itself in a tizzy over Libya, where both sides were Muslim and the obvious losers-to-be of Benghazi were not even Shitite (as the underdogs had been in Iraq) and the Tyrant of Tripoli had just a few weeks previously been giving up his weapons of mass destruction, looking after the near-death Lockerbie bomber, striking oil deals with BP, funding British ‘higher education,’ discussing an ‘African-style’ democratization of his country and (tell it not in Gath!) stopping Black Africans from getting to Italy.

So there was much humming and hahing about ‘no fly zones’ (surely easy enough to impose on Gaddafi’s ancient Russian aircraft from Western bases in Cyprus, Crete, Malta and Italy); and lawyers clocked up fat fees working out how ‘international law’ would sanctify supporting with arms the ‘human rights’ cause of any finally selected bunch of rebels (at least half of the Benghazi street ravers initially did not want Western intervention since they did not trust the West).

In the confusion, Colonel Cameron sent in a crack SAS team (blacked up, in a helicopter to Benghazi in the middle of the night, mission unknown) – only for them to be humiliatingly imprisoned by some of the rebels and put back on the first boat to Britain [an ancient British destroyer diverted from heading for the knacker’s yard]).

The Guardian summed up the West’s problem well (11 iii, Simon Tisdall): “If the west does not intervene, and the revolution is bloodily suppressed, leaders who spoke out boldly and bravely in support [such as UK PM Cameron, who had called for imposition on Gaddafi of a ‘no fly zone’] will be ridiculed as impotent charlatans. They will not be trusted again. They may be forced, in time, to deal with a triumphant and unpredictably vengeful Gaddafi. And democratic uprisings elsewhere in the Arab world will be set back, perhaps fatally. It is a conundrum made in hell. Except it was made in Downing Street.”

Despite Libya’s revolutionaries soon moving into full-blown retreat (as was hardly surprising given Ghaddafi’s 200-1 military superiority), Daft Dave continued to back them verbally, apparently prepared to see a hostile post-conflict Libya export its oil chiefly to China. Seldom could trendy idealistic support for revolutionaries have seemed odder: for the revolutionaries of Tunisia and Egypt had proceeded swiftly not to parliamentary democracy but to a clampdown on women and alcohol and to the killing of Coptic Christians. {Just why DD and Obarmy had not asked the Egyptian – or some other bloated Arab army – to do the work of intervention was a mystery.}

* Here troubles (especially for Western doctrines of the merits of ‘diversity’) very much continued (see previous) as Muslims tried to take over the quaint previously French-run Christian state. Aid agencies said an estimated 450,000 people had been uprooted by the growing conflict, including tens of thousands who fled to Liberia. In Ivory Coast’s economic capital, Abidjan (once called ‘the Paris of Africa’), some 300,000 people were displaced and the boarded-up streets were littered with barricades and rubbish, mainly because of ethnic fighting between rival forces in the once-fashionable Abobo district, according to the UN (Guardian, 12 iii).

America’s National Public Radio was stung bigtime as two undercover reporters pretended to be members of the Muslim Brotherhood offering cash to help with programming and found themselves treated by NPR bossmen to a full chorus of anti-semitic, anti-Republican and indeed anti-American responses (Spectator, 9 iii, Melanie Phillips, ‘A lid is lifted at NPR’).

DISCRIMINATION DEFENDED (Alasdair Palmer, Daily Telegraph, 5 iii):
Last week, the European Court of Justice ruled that insurers are not entitled to take into account the differences between men and women when charging for policies. At present, insurers in most European countries, including Britain, charge young women less for car insurance than young men, on the sensible grounds that young men are about 10 times more likely to be involved in an accident.

Women also usually live several years longer than men. The firms that sell annuities (which convert your pension savings into an income for the rest of your life) therefore charge women more than men, since it will be more expensive to provide them with an annuity. The ECJ has decided that this, too, amounts to sex discrimination and that every member of the EU will have to stop “discriminating” in that way by 2013.

The judges made an elementary mistake about the meaning of the word “discrimination”, confusing the unacceptable practice of manifesting prejudice against groups of people with the perfectly legitimate process of drawing distinctions between them on the basis of well‑attested evidence. Charging people whose main leisure activity is hang-gliding more for their life insurance than people who stay inside playing tiddlywinks is not an example of prejudice. But it is an example of discrimination. And if the ECJ’s rulings were to be made consistent, it would have to be outlawed.

This is, by any standards, simply crazy. No sane person thinks that by charging them more to insure their cars, companies are treating young men in the way Germany treated the Jews in the Thirties. Do we really want decisions on what our laws should be to be taken by officials who cannot distinguish discrimination from prejudice, or actuaries from Nazis?

Yo’ Papa Benedict XVI declared Jews were not to blame for the death of Christ. Though Saint Matthew’s Gospel said “all the Jews” bayed for Jesus’ blood after he had had a go at the temple moneychangers, the Pope adjudicated that it was only Jewish ‘leaders’ who had put the boot into Jesus (Daily Telegraph, 2 iii, Nick Squires, Rome). {Il Papa did not provide an estimate of what percentage of Jews of the time did not accept rabbinical leadership – except, of course, the few followers of Jesus.}

There was fury at Kidscape and kindred outfits as beautiful blonde Anglophile Gwyneth Paltrow agreed to sing a song, ‘Do You Wanna Touch Me?’ written in 1973 by nymphette-loving (sometimes imprisoned for paedophilia) glam rocker Gary Glitter – “wholly inappropriate,” fumed Kidscape bosses (Guardian, 10 iii). Gwyneth’s use of the song (immediately taking it into the American Top 30) was likely to lead to a hefty windfall in royalties for ‘pervert’ adolescente-loving Glitter from sales of the track, which Paltrow performed as teacher ‘Holly Holliday’ during a scene in a sex education class.

As America’s Mrs Barbara Harris (of ‘Project Prevention’) was announced in the British press as having, in the course of a six-month campaign, persuaded 26 British female drug addicts to accept long-term contraception (Daily Mail, 8 iii) (though she denied eugenic intent), the more amusing (especially, babe-bagging) side of the life of Britain’s earlier top progressive (and eugenist), H.G.Wells (1866-1946) got an airing (Guardian, 11 iii, David Lodge):
Wells was....a prophet of the sexual revolution of our own era. He believed in free love and practised it tirelessly. He was married twice to women he loved, but neither of whom satisfied him sexually, and had several long-term relationships, as well as innumerable briefer affairs, mostly condoned by his second wife, Jane.

Of particular interest because of the scandal they aroused were his relationships with three young women half his age: Rosamund Bland, the secretly adopted daughter of Edith and Hubert Bland, who was actually fathered by Bland on Edith's companion and housekeeper, Alice Hoatson {assistant secretary of the Fabian Society}; Amber Reeves, a brilliant Cambridge undergraduate, also the daughter of prominent Fabians; and Rebecca West {later Dame Rebecca, b. 1892), whom he invited to his Essex country house in 1912 to discuss her witty demolition of his novel Marriage in the feminist journal The Freewoman, a meeting that led in due course to the birth of Anthony West on the first day of the first world war, and a stormy relationship that lasted for some 10 years.

The takeover of Britain by greedy and peecee lawyers was exposed as ‘Sir’ Fred Goodwin (‘Fred the Shred’), who as CEO of the Royal Bank of Scotland had brought the bank to its knees, requiring 84% nationalization, obtained an English High Court injunction (guided by European ‘human rights’ law) forbidding publication of his name or even any reference to him as a banker. Just what Glasgow council house boy Fred was trying to hide was unclear – the very existence of the injunction could only be mentioned because a lone MP had chosen to question it, his question being protected by parliamentary privilege (Guardian, 11 iii, Joshua Rozenberg).

Sometimes one finds a kindred spirit, in this case the Spectator’s correspondent ‘Eddie’ on Africa (27 ii):
"This is no morality in foreign policy. For anyone. But anyway, if some countries (in the EU) are moral and try and make things better, what happens? The Chinese march in with their amoral 'see no evil' agenda, bribing anyone they need to bribe to secure business and resources and turning a blind eye to all human rights violations.

If the USA had backed Britain in France in Suez in 1956, of course, none of this mess would have ever happened...

Ignore all mad Muslims: it's a typical false argument for them to blame all bad in the world and the middle east on infidels. conveniently forgetting that most muslims who are killed are killed by muslims, and that it's muslim despots supported by the muslim people who do these bad things and make these countries hell holes. The fantasy and delusion of the Islamist extremists who are always invited on BBC shows is that an Islamist world under Sharia law would be Utopia, and all problems in the world are there because we do not follow Sharia and Jihad. Ho hum... I do wish these nutjobs would get a hobby!

Having said that, the north african leaders who are now being deposed did lift the literacy rate from less than 20 to 80% in their countries and educate the young. Now they have a huge unemployed educated under-30 population and rising food prices: these things are the reason for the uprisings, not any moral opposition to any leader!

Western post-Suez incompetence in controlling the Arab world (which Britain and France had previously managed OK for two hundred years) was further exposed as Libya – which had supposedly done a rehabilitative deal with the US in 2003 – turned out to have retained substantial supplies of chemical and biological weapons, as well as yellow cake uranium (the key ingredient for building a nuclear bomb) (Daily Mail, 2 iii). Nor had the West achieved behavioural restraint in Libya, for savage Alsatians and boxers were set on male prisoners to tear them limb from limb and Viagra- and drink-fuelled Africans were let loose for hours to rape, bugger and otherwise chastise screaming female prisoners (The Australian, 1 iii).

America’s great ally, Pakistan, the beneficiary of multi-trillion-dollar largesse, shot dead its only Christian cabinet minister (Guardian, 2 iii).

A new high peak of anti-‘discriminatory’ lunacy was reached in Britain as Eurojustice made it illegal to offer lower car insurance premiums to women. The Sun (28 ii):
EU fools

CAR insurance for young men has long been eye-wateringly pricey. But at least it makes sense. They are the greatest risk.
Now the European Court of Justice is to ban gender bias in insurance. And we all know what will happen. Insurance firms will hit young women with equally extortionate rates - and young men's premiums may fall a few quid if they're lucky. And so a judge in Europe, backing a politically correct case brought by a Belgian consumer group, will rewrite UK rules on car insurance. Making a fair system blatantly unfair.

After Britain had spent fifty years abolishing free speech about any important matter (race, religion, sex, handicap, dysgenics etc.), it was the turn of London High Court judges to forbid a pair of (successful) Black foster parents to take in any more children (despite the enormous demand for foster places for Black kids, the victims of the country’s dysgenic ‘social worker’ police). Why the ban? The couple would not agree to abandon their traditionally Christian thinking about homosexuality. Jewish columnist Melanie Phillips set out the problem (Spectator, 28 ii):
The crime [of foster parents Eunice and Owen Johns] is simply to believe it is wrong to promote a homosexual lifestyle to a child in their care because they take the view that sex outside marriage is wrong.

Yet for that view – which not long ago was a normative moral position – Lord Justice Munby and Mr Justice Beatson have ruled that they must be banned from fostering any further children. They are being banned simply because they have views of which these judges disapprove.

Such a ruling is, first, utterly illiberal and intolerant. Second, in its shallowness and secular bias it is ridiculous. For the judges actually said that there was no place in law for Christian beliefs – that Britain was a ‘largely secular’, multi-cultural country in which the laws of the realm ‘do not include Christianity’.

{Yes, the Blair/Brown years had proved a triumph for yaggery and PeeCee – with paedophiles, children needing a home and freethinkers being the foremost victims, and with ‘Liberals’ somnolescent.}

(A LITTLE) ATTENTION FOR IQ & The Wealth of Nations

America’s most cited legal scholar, the balded Richard Posner, turned out to have condescended to mention Richard Lynn and Tatu Vanhanen’s evidence (available since Audrey Shuey’s work of 1966) that US IQ was dragged down by the feeble contribution from its Blacks -- but Posner had little time for genetic explanations and thought a few more Head Start programmes could well solve the problem while, as an ignoramus of moderation, adjudicating that education could be overestimated “relative to genetic and cultural factors and also (and importantly) to economic inequality” (‘The Becker-Posner Blog’, 2 i). {In short, a long way for this venerated expert to go!}

As Libya’s ranting IRA- and Scargill-backing mad dog Colonel Gaddafi was cornered pro tem. in his capital Tripoli and denounced as ‘insane’ even by insiders who had worked with him for 45 years, it transpired that he had enthusiastic pals among academics and students at the London School of Economics – to which he had given £1.5M (as a thank-you for his son being given a Ph.D. there for a plagiarized thesis [Guardian, 5 iii]) and where one bosswallahmonkey, Prof. David Held, who ‘supervised’ the son, was a close pal of Labour’s new union-backed adenoidal leader Ed Miliband (Sun, 28 ii, 28iib; Daily Mail, 3 iii; Times, 3 iii, p.1 news, illustration of LSE connections to Libyan dosh and educational projects, denunciatory leading article, denunciation by ex-MP Margaret Hodge).

Other lunis on the Colonel’s payroll included Manchester Metropolitan, Liverpool John Moores, Teesside, Glamorgan and Queen Margaret [Edinburgh]. Evidently the Blair/Brown ‘New Labour’ deal had been not just with the *ankers and hedgerow gamblers but also with Gaddawfu – who had duly obliged by denouncing al Qaeda, funding British universities and generally appearing ‘one of us’ by mouthing commitment to demakrazy.

Being believers in multiculti mythology, the London academics failed to see that Gaddawfu’s ‘direct socialism’ or ‘alternative way’ (without any official political leader) was actually a case of good old-fashioned tribalism – for Libya sported 140 tribes or clans which Gaddawfu (himself from the relatively small northern Qaddafi tribe) ruled in classical imperial manner by steel and deals.

One luminary on the Libyan School of Economics Board, the well-known boyish civil liberties campaigner Shami Chakrabarty, had the goodness to say she would dish out “bucketloads” of apologies for the LSE having become so shamelessly involved with a tyrant and probable mass murderer. And the LSE boss, ignoramus ‘Sir’ Howard Davies, had the decency to resign (Sun, 4 iii) – saying he had been duped by the Blair/Gaddafi deal.

But there were no public regrets from former LSE Director Prof. Anthony Giddens (adviser to Blair on postmodern ‘Third Way’ ideas,* and thus given a seat in the House of Lords) who declined to tell the Guardian whether he had been paid for his visits to Gaddafi’s tent (visits partly organized from Harvard with the blessing of LSE graduate multi-billionaire George Soros) (5 iii).

{In truth, it was difficult to know how far to go with apologizing, as the Colonel seemed well-placed to rout the opposition to him in far north-eastern Libya – with the help of the £100M supplies of tear gas, armoured vehicles and jets which he had had from Britain’s New Labour Government.}

Detail of how the leftist academics were taken in:
{“Our Brother”} Gaddafi was seen praised by LSE luminaries in a cringe-making video link as "the world's longest serving leader".

His son, Saif al-Islam, settled in a north London palace to write an LSE PhD and dispense trips and contracts. He was declared as being committed to "democracy, civil society and deep liberal values" and was even invited to give the Ralph Miliband memorial lecture, an unusual honour for any student.

His appreciation was swift. The university accepted a £1m contract to train 400 regime-approved "future leaders" from Libya. The mind boggles at it all. – Guardian, 4 iii, Simon Jenkins.

A consulting firm founded by Harvard professors in Cambridge, Mass., received $250,000 a month from the Libyan government to help polish the image in the West of its leader, Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi, The Boston Globe reported today. The work for Colonel Qaddafi included a proposed book expounding his views on democracy and freedom, paid visits to the Libyan leader by a host of academic luminaries, and even help on a doctoral dissertation that his son Seif was writing at the London School of Economics and Political Science. – Chronicle of Higher Education [USA], 4 iii.

Harvard University [actually returned a $2.5m donation it received from the then dictator of the United Arab Emirates,] Sheikh Zayed, after it emerged that his Zayed International Centre for Co-ordination had sponsored lectures and publications claiming that Zionists were responsible for the Holocaust and that the US military had carried out the 11 September attacks in 2001.

Unfortunately the LSE had no such qualms and in December 2006 signed an agreement with the UAE's current ruler, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahyan, to create a centre for Middle Eastern studies at the university. – Guardian, 5 iii, Emmanuel Akpan-Imwang.

*Private Eye called him “purveyor of pseudo-intellectual bollocks to the intelligentsia” (4 iii).

Enthusiasm for the tyrannous Colonel Gaddafi actually to be overthrown was higher among the great-and-good of London and Washington than it was in Europe for a simple reason (Der Spiegel, 24 ii). “We know what to expect when the Libyan national system falls,” said Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini, according to the UK Telegraph. “A wave of 200,000 to 300,000 immigrants.”

Gaddafi in recent years had played up his role as a bulwark against African immigrants to Europe. Italy and Libya began joint naval patrols in 2008 to stop boatloads of illegal or trafficked immigrants from crossing the Mediterranean, and in 2010 Libya signed a €50 billion deal with the European Union to manage its borders as a “transit country” for sub-Saharan Africans.

Italian Foreign Minister Frattini said that some 2.5 million people in Libya—about a third of the population—are non-Libyan immigrants who would flee if the government fell. Gaddafi himself had enjoyed stoking these fears. “Europe will become Black,” he said in December, if European leaders failed to cooperate with him on immigration controls.

Fashion house Dior’s top designer (of dresses no-one ever wears – except fat old Saudi bags liking to pretend they are thin), John Galliano, joined Ezra Pound in expressing a degree of dislike for Jews – even saying (with much drink taken, in a Paris restaurant, where he did not notice he was being filmed) that he ‘loved Hitler’ and that Jews had possibly deserved gassing.

Delightful out-of-wedlock-pregnant superstarlet Natalie Portman, a Dior model as well as a Jewess and Harvard psychology graduate, said she would never work with Galliano again and Dior promptly sacked him; but some fashionistas were semi-loyal, interpreting Galliano’s outburst as part of the ‘transgressive’ personality which the fashion industry had long encouraged him to cultivate (Guardian, 2 iii, Linda Grant).

{Whether the outrĂ© Galliano disliked the Jews more than the English, Irish, Scots or Welsh, and for what reason, could not be ascertained as PeeCee’s safety curtain on all discussion of racial questions was immediately brought down. G issued a grovelling apology as the peecee police of Paris moved in on him with an eye to arranging a six-month prison sentence for his drunken transgression.}

Wikileaks founder, leftist Julian Assange (awaiting trial for ‘rape’ in Sweden) was equally daringly – if more seriously – racist as he accused both Private Eye and the Guardian of a ‘Jewish conspiracy’ against his whistleblowing website (Guardian, 2 iii). In recent years, actors Mel Gibson and Charlie Sheen had been noted for digs at / curses of Jews (mainly when drunk). {Apparently the left-luvvies, finding there were more Muesli than Yiddish votes, had persuaded celebrities to greater displays of Judeophobia than had been seen since the 1930s.}

Mohammad Aliabadi, the head of Iran's National Olympic Committee complained that the babyish jagged-shaped logo for the London 2012 Olympic ‘Games’ ‘clearly’ spelled the word "Zion". That, the Iranian complained, was "a very revolting act” -- though millions of people had failed to see "Zion" surreptitiously contained inside the ghastly graphic (Guardian, 3 ii, Jonathan Freedland).

The Community Security Trust, which monitored anti-Jewish attacks in Britain, claimed that 2009-10 were the worst years on record for anti-Jewish incidents – ranging from acts of violence to bricks through synagogue windows to hate mail to abuse screamed on the streets.

{However, Jews continued to do fine at Nobel Prizes and Hollywood – where the sprightly Helena Bonham-Carter, zooming to score for playing the Queen Mother in the new film, ‘The King’s Speech,’ and for being a friend of Nice Nick and Daft Dave, turned out to be half-Jewish (well, fully Jewish by Jewish criteria).

The left-fuelled racism of stars and Mueslis was based on conspiratorial paranoid thinking rather than on any realities of psychology. – Still, it was apparently flourishing, unlike sober mainstream objections to filling the West with IQ-85 breeders.}

As it leaked out that Scottish universities were plotting to charge students £14Kp.a. (presumably then doing without direct teaching subsidy from the Scottish Executive and leaving it to that body to organize charity handouts for lads and lasses o’ pairts), investigation by the Daily Mail (3 iii, p.1) found hundreds of administrators in Scotland’s lunis paying themselves in excess of the UK Prime Minister – the star case being the diminutive but magisterial Edinburgh LUni Principal, Sir Tim O’Shea, who bagged an annual £.5M in pay and pension.

Having abandoned academic freedom and high-level academic teaching (getting much tutoring and lecturing done by postgrads -- quite a few of whom could hardly speak English, students complained), the luniversities had increasingly devoted themselves to cashflow greed and the pious retailing to semi-literate ‘students’ of mendacious multiculturalism.

Many ingenious tricks were used to keep things sweet and profitable, for example buying off student leaders with paid ‘sabbaticals’ which turned student associations into gaffers’ unions.

By 2011, Edinburgh University had scores of students canvassing to be elected to these sabbaticals, with the central George Square area plastered with hundreds of posters. One (attractive) young lady showed her mettle by advertising (all unwittingly as to her own charms, surely) More contact hours for all! Extended sessions and feedback! Mass access for disabled!

But E.LU. needed all its tricks for it had suffered a 15% drop in its applications (The Journal [Edinburgh], 23 ii, p.1) – probably as it had become known that its teaching was increasingly cursory and its courses of limited vocational relevance (even its law students with 2:1 degrees could be found working as checkout girls in Sainsbury’s a year after graduation).

Elsewhere, Northwestern University found a new way of stimulating student satisfaction {Hold your hat!}.
Northwestern students and administrators are defending an explicit after-class demonstration involving a woman being publicly penetrated by a sex toy on stage before members of the popular (600-strong) Human Sexuality course. The optional presentation, provided after the class and attended by about 120 students, featured a naked non-student woman being repeatedly sexually stimulated to the point of orgasm by the sex toy, referred to as a "fucksaw." The device is essentially a motorized phallus. – Daily Northwestern, 1/3 iii.

Elected in May 2010, the UK’s Camco Government had the momentum at the time to deal with the Clinton/Blair/Bush/Brown enforced Black&Mexican-splurging bubble&crunch by cutting all public expenditure, across the board, by 10% (or, as grumpy gay historian David Starkey preferred [BBC Question Time, 4 iii], 20%).

Instead, failing to tell the truth about the multiculti bubble, Camco had meandered along with just sufficient promises of promises of cuts to international markets to keep the pound sterling afloat. But voters were unimpressed – those in Barnsley, at a by-election, delivering Labour goons 61% and putting UKIP ahead of the ‘Conservatives’ and Liberals in sixth place – behind even the demonized BNP.

At the same time, it emerged that the Ministry of Defence – despite nine months of CamCo control – had been spending £22 on light bulbs selling in hardware stores for just 65p (on contracts made under Liebour, yet without public acknowledgment of the nonsense) (Sun, 4iii).

As scores of thousands of hungry and thirsty people seethed trying to cross from Libya into Tunisia, some were more likely to be beaten back than others (Globe&Mail [Toronto], 1 iii):
Officials from the UNHCR confirmed that sub-Saharan Africans are being singled out for exclusion from the border, and kept in dangerous conditions in the no-man’s-land between Libya and Tunisia. A few hundred Malians were allowed through over the weekend, but no black faces were visible Tuesday among the more than 10,000 people who did get through. “They call out country by country—Bangladesh, Egypt, China—but they don’t call out any African country,” said a Ghanaian. “They tell us they do not want any blacks to come in here.”
