Economist NODS TO IQ

Surprisingly for a magazine that declined to review IQ and the Wealth of Nations, the Economist (2 vi) carried the theory of U.S. scientists Gregory Cochran and Henry Harpending (which could not be published in American academia) that higher Jewish IQ is conveyed by genes making for nervous system branching: supposedly, as with sickle-cell anaemia and malaria, having a single version of the relevant gene is helpful though getting both versions is pretty calamitous -- single doses of the genes make for higher IQ, but double doses produce too much branching and yield the distinctive Jewish genetic problems of Tay-Sachs, Gaucher's and Niemann-Pick diseases. {Perhaps the Economist just couldn't resist when told there is a high correlation between IQ and success in banking.... }

{The story also made it into the New York Times (3 vi) which gave sympathetic consideration to Ashkenazi-Jewish intelligence having risen in Europe from 800A.D. (because Jews were banned from many occupations and land-owning but found a living practising usury and tax collection) and carried a mixture of comments from top Ashkenazi scientists including Stephen Pinker.}

{Biodiversity supremo Steve Sailer discussed the West's neglect of genetics and genetic engineering in VDare, 1 v.} {And the news carried to Denver's alert Rocky Mountain News, 11 vi. Canada's Globe & Mail [cf. New York Times] carried a substantial and sympathetic review of this and other genetic x racial work by Medical Correspondent Carolyn Abraham, beginning on its front-page (18 vi) -- though with apparently obligatory opening and closing swipes at "infamous" and "internationally condemned" Phil Rushton; a re-draft of this story appeared in the Jerusalem Post, 19 vi; and the finding got a mention at RunnersWeb.com along with the observation that almost all the world's 500 top 100-meter sprinters were of West African descent (19 vi) Wry welcoming comment on Abraham's piece was provided by Steve Sailer (19 vi).} {Cleveland, Ohio's Jewish News established that Gaucher's victims in a Jerusalem hospital were highly over-represented in high-IQ professions (19 vi).}

{Another religious group that may have forged ahead from its isolation (and worse -- see American example) and resort to usury is that of the Quakers. They are certainly at the top of American IQ tables (SAT scores) -- McDougall NewsLetter, 23 iii 99); and they are substantially over-represented in America's East Coast New York Times-reading Establishment, being ahead of Presbyterians and streets ahead of Muslims and Mormons -- Gene Expression, 6 xii 04. (Though legalized in Cromwell's England, usury was still subject to legal restraints in England of 1800, where relaxation of restrictions was urged by Jeremy Bentham; it was forbidden in the original U.S Constitution; and it was vigorously condemned by the Pope as late as 1891. Today, Islam still forbids usury; nor is usury popular with 'white nationalists,' or ecologists.)}



LEFTIST DOUBTS NEW HANDOUTS FOR AFRICA

It was not just the new World Bank boss, the neoconservative Paul Wolfowitz who suspected that Western cash for Africa tended to end up fuelling corruption. The latest bout of proposals of utopian generosity to the Dark Continent by the U.K. leaders Tony Blair and Gordon Brown as they prepared to host the G8 meeting in Gleneagles, Scotland met with some reservation even in the Guardian (3 vi) which had headlines saying 'Fraud verdict implicates Mbeki's deputy' and 'Continent in thrall of corruption' and a leading article referring to Africa's "corrupt leaders and officials." {Wow, at this rate it may only be a decade before the Grauniad mentions Black Africa's little problem of its IQ being only around 70! .... }

{South Africa's Thabo Mbeki was going to be none too pleased with this kind of leftist attack, busy as he was accusing the saintly Mr Brown of criticizing Africans for 'sexual depravity' -- when all Mr Brown had done was to say Britain couldn't go on endlessly apologizing for the Empire (even if that was the Spectator's own sorry inclination (4 vi)).}

{The Guardian seemed to have caught the mood of the British public, 79% of whom told YouGov pollsters that Africa's troubles were due to "corrupt and incompetent governments"; and 80% said Africa was not doing enough to solve its problems (Daily Telegraph, 4 vi). 53% additionally blamed HIV/AIDS -- of which Swaziland provided a spectacular example, with 42.6% of its adult population infected (while its King Mswati III continued to build himself an airport able to receive jumbo jets -- doubtless to help receive the œ907,000 in aid given annually by Britain).} {Even Blacks themselves seemed to be taking a dim view of sending money to Africa: after self-publicist ... ooops ... altruist Bob Geldof approached British Black music groups to take part in his latest orgy of generosity to Africa, 'Live 8', he claimed to have been that told almost all Black groups were 'too busy.'}

{In fact, 'incompetence' is the key to African economic backwardness and lack of international fame in rock music, rather than 'corruption' -- for there is no worldwide negative correlation between corruption and growth, as witness economic progress in legendarily corrupt India (Elliott Green, letter to Daily Telegraph, 4 vi). Ten years after White rule ended, South Africa was "engulfed" in riots matching any that happened under apartheid (Sunday Telegraph, 5 vi).} {The Guardian followed up its reservations with a fine piece by its columnist Martin Kettle, 'The naive lead the naive in a campaign of liberal guilt,' 7 vi. Kettle wrote:

"For every 1,000 pounds of African debt and debt interest, Africa's elites have exported 1,450 pounds of capital into overseas banks and investments. ....Every African alive today has received $5,000 in aid. ....Africa has already received the equivalent of six Marshall plans in cash terms."

Kettle speculated that the Brown-Blair interest in Africa was intended to placate the many protesters against globalization expected in Edinburgh in July.} {Realizing it had suddnly become acceptable to criticize African governance -- if not to attribute the incompetence to low IQ (R. Lynn & T. Vanhanen, 2002, IQ and the Wealth of Nations) -- the Daily Telegraph threw in front-page headlines to the effect that oil-rich Nigeria's leaders had salted away for themselves GBP220 billon, the same amount as the aid given by the West to the whole of Africa in the previous 40 years.} {In tortured Zimbabwe, Tyrant Robert Mugabe embarked on what the Times called a "frenzy of destruction" -- pulling down the shanty homes of thousands, apparently for no greater crime than making the place look untidy.}

ETHNIC CLEANSING SUCCESSES

As trouble continued in multicultural Kosovo, Rwanda, Sudan and Northern Ireland, Times Higher (5 vi) offered as examples of soothing separations the interchanges of population between Greece and Turkey after 1918 and the Russians' cleansing Eastern Europe of Germans after 1945. Apparently the British Government did once toy with the idea of solving the Irish question by shifting 500,000 Catholics from North to South in return accepting 200,000 Protestants coming from the South to the North -- the idea appealed to Prime Minister Edward Heath in the 1970s. {Likewise the population interchange between India and Pakistan in 1947 saved many millions of lives and prevented civil war -- even though some 1 million may have died in the course of the interchange.}

LUNIVERSITY OF EDINBURGH DISASTER

Languishing in academic ratings for almost a decade, the LUniversity of Edinburgh suffered spectacular humiliation as one of its Ph.D. students died on Mount Everest while testing ELU-designed equipment intended to help climbers cope with altitude sickness. Dr Robert Milne, 49, was said by his wife to have been extremely fit before leaving Scotland, and his diaries showed him in good spirits until the last.



BUSTED BLONDE

A Norwegian blonde, 32, who brought men home to taunt her husband was jailed for a year after falsely claiming to have been abducted and raped by a man she had in fact targeted in a pub -- who then had to endure a day in jail and three months of feminazish persecution before video footage emerged showing the blonde thoroughly enjoying herself with him in a hotel (Sun, 7 vi). {But sex-mad Merete Underwood, who had cried rape five times before, e.g. after a night of ecstasy with a Stavanger plumber (News of the World, 12 vi), was still not short of suitors -- with one 36-year-old vowing to wed her (Sun, 9 vi).}



PSYCHOPATHY STRONGLY HERITABLE -- Times READERS TOLD

New research (by Essi Viding) on the 3,700 twin pairs registered at London's Institute of Psychiatry found scores on a measure of 'Callous and Unfeeling' to be 80 heritable. High scores on a measure of 'Anti-social Behaviour' were also strongly heritable -- but not lower scores. {Sadly, the Times' reporting of this research -- by female journalist Anjana Ahuja -- was gravely deficient, saying that the high heritability estimates were the result of identical twins being more psychopathic than fraternals. No wonder Britain's great-and-good are so hopelessly ignorant of genetic factors, if even a Times journalist writing on the subject does not know that the relevant calculation compares the twin correlations found within each of the two types of twin!}

{The Times added that another big twin study, at London's St Thomas's Hospital, had shown female orgasmicity to be substantially heritable. Base rates were that 1 woman in 6 never had an orgasm with her partner (1 in 7 when trying masturbation); 1 in 7 always orgasmed with her partner (1 in 3 using masturbation).}



Re: the rush to spend Western money on Black Africa:

I wrote to the Times and phoned the BBC as follows:

There is actually no international correlation between corruption and poverty, as work at the London School of Economics has recently shown. Africa's outstanding problem is low IQ, as documented in the book 'IQ and the Wealth of Nations' and reported in the Times on 10th November, 2003. Since IQ differences are strongly heritable, any Western cash showered on Africa will be largely wasted (like the equivalent of six Marshall plans already given to Africa) unless dedicated to clearly relevant measures (e.g. reducing dysgenic breeding by strict sexual segregation till 18 and increasing breeding by graduates -- even allowing them polygamy)

It is perhaps worth adding that the World Bank has reported: "Econometric analyses show that aid has no systematic relationship to growth anywhere in the world. This may not be surprising in countries where aid is small relative to the size of the economy. It is surprising and concerning in Africa .... where aid flows have consistently reached 10% or more of gross national product in many countries over an extended period of time." (World Bank, 1999, "Aid Effectiveness: The Problem of Africa.")

{Private Eye had Black African leaders including Zimbotswanique's Pres. Dinkum Banana joining in the appeal to make poverty history for African leaders, promising to spend the cash only on arms, palaces, alcohol and women....} {A Speccie leader (10 vi) expressed well the essential drive of the 'make poverty history' protestors headed for Edinburgh: "It is as if the West's socialists, having lost the argument over state ownership of the means of production at home, have instead identified Africa as a test-bed for their beliefs." But of course the Speccie could not mention average IQ, only "the absence of talented individuals because, through fear of their livelihoods and in some cases lives, they have fled over the past 30 years, taking their skills and œ100 billion worth of wealth with them."}

{The case against splurging on Africa was made excellently on the front pages of the Speccie, 25 vi, and the Daily Telegraph, 25 vi -- both of which recorded that theft by African leaders -- e.g. of Nigeria's oil reserves, even their future mortgaged for UKP20 billion, far exceeded what was given in aid by the lunatic West.}


WHO HELPED KILL VICTORIA CLIMBIE?

As a social work 'tribunal' rescinded condemnation of Black Lisa Arthurworrey, who had let her charge the little Black girl Victoria clock up 168 injuries and die (at the hands of her Black aunt and the aunt's Black boyfriend -- both subsequently jailed for life), Britain waited in vain for public criticism of the political correctness in Haringey which counselled staff to turn a blind eye to the rougher edges of Black culture -- and to fear being accused as racist if they did otherwise. But answer came there none -- especially not from the BBC which pussyfooted around the subject (9 vi 05). Braver -- because of his Blackness and kindred anti-racist credentials -- had been Campaign for Racial Equality boss Trevor Phillips who had once condemned Haringey's indulgence of Blacks' little ways as "racist" (27 iv 04) and the Glasgow Herald's Ruth Wishart backed him up (6 vi 05). Victoria's parents, Francis and Berthe Climbi‚ who had never blamed the pretty junior Arthurworrey, demanding sackings at management level. {Meanwhile, Britain had another Black torture case on its hands -- involving an Angolan girl of 8 whose aunt had felt she was a "witch" and thus needed discipline and disposal in a zipped bag thrown into the Thames (Times Online, 3 vi 05).

The BBC (3 vi 05) promptly allowed a Black church to mount an unopposed defence of exorcism -- apparently to get rid of 'ndoki' which can affect even unborn children in the womb. Police, noting the disappearance of hundreds of Black children from London schools, feared this case might be only the tip of an iceberg of Black child abuse tolerated by UK teachers and social workers -- and indeed police (who prefer hounding motorists, marijuana smokers and internet paedodownloaders to the far more serious problem of Black criminality).}



TOP U.S. RACE REALIST SACKED

Managing Editor at Human Events (America's oldest weekly conservative publication), Kevin Lamb, who in his free time edited Occidental Quarterly, found himself fired after a simple phone call from the affluent Southern Poverty Law Centre complaining of his less than wildly welcoming attitude to homosexuality and gay marriage. Kevin set out the details in Middle America News (vi 2005), bravely concluding with the words of the pioneering social psychologist, William McDougall (1934, Religion and the Science of Life, London:Methuen). Conservatives once defended the importance of conserving America's heritage and cultural traditions, but the rise of "political correctness" says Kevin, has foreshadowed an important point that William McDougall, once argued decades ago:

"The essential expressions of conservatism are respect for the ancestors, pride in their achievement, and reverence for the traditions which they have handed down; all of which means what is now fashionable to call 'race prejudice' and 'national prejudice,' but may more justly be described as preference for, and belief in the merits of, a man's own tribe, race, or nation, with its peculiar customs and institutions -- its ethos, in short. If such preferences, rooted in traditional sentiments, are swept away from a people, its component individuals become cosmopolitans; and a cosmopolitan is a man for whom all such preferences have become mere prejudices, a man in whom the traditional sentiments of his forefathers no longer flourish, a man who floats upon the current of life, the sport of his passions, though he may deceive himself with the fiction that he is guided in all things by reason alone."

Kevin received a tidal wave of sympathy from correspondents to American Renaissance (vi 05). Apparently veteran race realist Sam Francis had similarly been fired from Washington Times after some ethnic complained about his vigorous defence of White interests.}



EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHER BACK-TRACKS FROM 'INCLUSION'

Top Government adviser, Baroness Warnock, 82, caused consternation among idealists and hilarity among realists as she reversed gear on the policy of integrating feeble-minded children (euphemistically renamed Special Educational Needs children) into normal curricula which she had foisted on British schools thirty years ago. She admitted that, in practice, inclusion too often created "a confusion of which children are the casualties" (BBC, 10 vi). {The Guardian commended Mary Warnock's "frankness," suggesting that the empirical case for ditching socialist ideology and restoring special schools and classes -- as urged in The g Factor, 1996 -- is pretty overwhelming. The Daily Telegraph's editor, Charles Moore, properly ridiculed the wish of the "alert and bossy as ever [Lady Warnock], aged 81" to have yet another "government-funded Committee of Inquiry" to rectify her own Committee's errors of 30 years ago.}


USELESS TORIES TRIGGER REFLECTION

As candidates for the Conservative leadership let it be known they were (variously) pro-European Union, pro-the invasion of Serbia, anti-the invasion of Iraq, pro-motorist, family-forgetting and gay, it increasingly appeared that only a programme of national liberalism pitched especially at young people would attract votes. The main novel proposals for kids (and a few others) would be as follows:

FREEDOM -- A NATIONAL LIBERAL CHARTER

1. Legalize all drugs (and tax them up to the hilt). (Prostitution, gambling and drinking were all increasingly freed from legal control in the twentieth century, so why not drugs, the main source of gun crime in Britain? Keeping up taxes would mean a living could be eked out of smuggling by criminals, thus dissuading them from reverting to time-honoured practices of breaking and entering.)

2. Lower the age of consent to Mental Age 14. (Thus allowing kids if IQ 120 to engage in sexual activity from age 12 if desired.)

3. Create a Youth Army for Africa (YAA) which would spend all aid money aimed at Africa.

4. Encourage all youth to undertake service in YAA -- which, with staff seconded from Oxbridge, would provide free degrees to students who stayed five years. (This would begin to break the liberal-left's current monopoly of higher education.)

5. Charge no university fees to girls with babies of their own by fathers who were fully supporting mother and child.

6. Allow all children (subject to parental agreement) a choice of at least three state schools.

7. Allow all children (subject to parental agreement until age 12) a choice of at least three school classes at any one time -- including being allowed to take lessons with older or younger children.

8. Let people choose their own health insurance -- deciding for themselves whether to insure for getting a hip transplant at 95 etc.

9. Return to Preventive Detention for criminals -- i.e. to the American 'three strikes and you're out.'

10. Instruct police to investigate only crimes reported by the public -- thus stopping much mindless persecution of motorists, prostitutes and paedophiles (and, at present, drug-takers).

11. Legislate to allow victims of physically intrusive crimes (against person or property) to defend themselves with force until the criminal is prostrate and incapable of immediate further action.

12. Scrap restrictions on police stopping suspicious persons (i.e. young Black males) to question them.

13. Introduce a statute of limitations forbidding prosecution for events of more than two years ago -- thus switching off blackmail threats against teenagers who have taken drugs, had illicit sex etc.

14. Decriminalize all activity and speech resulting in no direct loss, physical pain or physical harm to a named victim -- again, reducing threats of blackmail and re-establishing free speech and intelligent discrimination and reasonable prejudice.

GERMAN RACE REALISM LIVES ON

JOY OF DIVERSITY

The Portuguese learned the delights of multiculturalism as 500 Black youths rampaged along one of the Algarve's top tourist beaches, 15km west of Lisbon, in an orgy of thieving. Whites (and some Blacks) fled before the onslaught, sometimes losing contact with their own children.

PAEDOHYSTERIA PUNCTURED

The jury in Pop King Michael Jackson's trial decided that his bedding of young teenage boys was a whole lot nicer than the allegations of his mega-rich 'victims' (who had attended Jackson's Neverland ranch for years) and their money-grubbing mothers. Ludicrous paedohysterical District Attorney Thomas Sneddon stormed out of the Santa Barbara court in fury as the verdict was announced. {The sober Christian Science Monitor counseled against "over-reaction" to paedophilia; Times columnist Alice Miles praised the jurors wished Jacko well in re-starting his career; the Speccie's Leo McKinstry sympathized with Jackson and denounced "the hysteria about paedophilia" (18 vi); but the feminastish Guardian was down-in-the mouth.}

{Sadly, this INNOCENT-ON-ALL-TEN-CHARGES finding and demonstration of the lack of harm coming from paedophilia did not come in time to stop British police making
fools of themselves by charging alcoholic and notoriously womanizing British soccer superstar George Best, 59, with 'abusing' a 13-year-old girl. Bestie's ex-wife Alex vowed to stand by him against paedohysteria.}

SPECCIE COMES ROUND

All too late in the day, the Spectator (22 iv) allowed its occasional (Belfast- and Cambridge-educated) columnist Leo McKinstry (see e.g. this Diary, 2004) to point out that Blacks and Bangladeshis in Britain commit a lot of crimes and disproportionately consume state welfare and housing benefits. Alas, this was too late for the unimaginative Conservative Mr Howard -- stuck by then with claiming to want nothing more than a few unspecified 'controls' on migration, in line with all Britain's other parties.


RACE IS BIOLOGY -- CLAIMS PUBLISHED

Licensed scholarly warfare broke out in the APA journal Psychology, Public Policy and Law (vi 05, full articles) over whether psychological race differences (especially in intelligence) are substantially heritable.

Race realists Arthur Jensen, Phil Rushton and Linda Gottfredson fought their corner excellently, conveniently reviewing the literature (cf. the Cambridge debate (i 97)*) and adding some useful points (e.g. that skin lightness is linked to IQ among South Africa's Blacks -- which it is not among America's Blacks, where lighter skins often came about from historical Black female matings with dull White farmhands during the days of slavery). The hereditarians were opposed by such as Robert Sternberg (sometimes said by me to believe in 666 types of intelligence -- Behav.Res.& Therapy, 1992; Why ignore the g factor? in H.Nyborg, 2003, The Scientific Study of General Intelligence) and Richard E. Nisbett (reviewed by me in Heredity, 2003) who claimed among other things medium-term boosts for children on non-IQ-type tests from Headstart-type programmes involving 8 hours intervention daily

Overall, the race realists had a coherent message with copious evidence and the environmentalists had the scraps; the groups remained respectively the 'stompers' and 'stompees', as amusingly caricatured by Professor Earl 'Buzz' Hunt (Brand, Person.&Indiv.Diffs, 1999) though they strangely neglected to deal with the left's main arguments against the g factor (for the argument and London School answers, see Brand, Constales & Kane, 2003).

Occidental Quarterly reckoned the 60-page Rushton & Jensen article might prove as much of a landmark as Jensen's classic 1969 Harvard Educational Review article, 'How much can we boost IQ and educational attainment?' The race-realist argument was summarized in News-Medical Net, 26 iv, and rejected by the Canadian Broadcasting Company's Stephen Strauss on the grounds that no genes had so far been found for intelligence. Strauss plainly never got the benefit of my March letter to Times Literary Supplement:

"Pittsburgh physiologists reported in 2000 that cognitive impairments are associated with the gene e4; and this gene is at least three times as common in Negroes, Pygmies and Bushmen as in East Asians, with whites falling in between (American Journal of Medical Genetics, Dec. 4; 96(6):707-11". The importance of the strongly race-linked Duffy gene to race differences in cancer and malaria was shown in new work by Cincinnati medics (Occidental Quarterly, 6 iv).


EUGENICS MARCHES ON

A new book by John Glad, Future Human Evolution (downloadable from http://www.whatwemaybe.org), set out a bright future for eugenics and especially noted that eugenics had been (both Biblically and in the 1930's) and still was much favoured by the Jews: the author quoted a contemporary Israeli journalist as saying, "Eugenics is alive and well" [in Israel]. Eugenics was also advocated publicly in 2005 by a leading member of Germany's Free Democratic Party, Daniel Bahr, who criticized the fact that only 40% of Germany's female academics had children.


LIBERAL FASCISM INDICTED

Turning the tables on its hysterical establishment enemies (who freely send the police against it and even its Cambridge-educated leader), the British National Party managed to point out in party political broadcasts on UK TV and radio that they were the only substantial party to back freedom of speech in the UK. At the time, the BNP's Cambridge-educated leader Nick Griffin faced a 17-year jail term for moderate and private verbal criticism of Islamofascism.


ACADEMICS' POLITICAL BIAS REVEALED

The extent of anti-conservative bias in British universities surfaced as Times Higher gave the party affiliations of university-employed parliamentary candidates in the 2005 General Election: Conservative 0; Green 8; Labour 8; Liberal 11; Scottish Nationalist Party 1; United Kingdom Independence Party 1. Times Higher also reported that, for the first time, support for Liberals among academics as a whole was greater than support for Labour.


MULTICULTURALIST CARRIES ON SMEARING

Although Britain's liberal left agreed to avoid calling Conservative leader Michael Howard a 'racist', there were ways round this self-denying ordinance. Thus disgraced ex-CRE drunk -- ooops -- Black boss Herman Ouseley: 'It is racist to try to capture the votes of bigots. .Michael Howard tries to capture votes otherwise destined for the British National Party.' The BBC found another way: its Radio 4 got assorted bishops, social workers and Black community leaders such as Ouseley to say they felt 'uncomfortable' with Mr Howard's tone, which was suggested to be 'subliminally racist'.

{Mr Howard remained firm that he would introduce 'controls' on immigration, but he was non-committal as to their content, saying rather airily that he would leave that to Parliament. Likewise he was not inclined to bravery about taxation, saying only that he would increase state spending by (a measly) 0.3% less than Labour.}


TOP BLACK LEFTIST ADMITS IMPORTANCE OF BIOLOGY

The ex-Harvard homosexual historian Kwame Anthony Appiah (the son of a daughter of UK Labour Chancellor Sir Stafford Cripps and a Ghanaian luminary) surprised leftists by announcing in New York Review of Books (reviewed by Alan Ryan, 28 iv) that a person's 'identity' (and thus values and ethics) would depend partly on their biology and basic nationality. Throwing in stinging criticisms of multiculturalism, postmodernism and 'existentialist creativity', he thus announced he wanted to be called a 'rooted cosmopolitan.'

PSYCHOLOGICAL SEX DIFFERENCES PRESENT AT BIRTH

While male human newborns prefer to look at mechanical mobiles, female new borns prefer to look at people's faces. Simon Boring-Cohen's excellent case for innate sex differences - pursued at Cambridge Uni while neglecting racial and individual differences and the Big Six personality dimensions -- remained unanswerable and treated with a journalistic respect seldom shown about other biological differences. (Though, in fairness, BBC Radio 4 had two short programmes for wymmin in March summarizing ten-year-old work on the Big Five.)


`IT'S THE RACE ISSUE, STUPID'

As all Britain's main political parties failed to connect with voters in the General Election campaign, comely Times hackette Alice Miles (said by the leftist New Statesman to be among Britain's twenty most influential women (4 iv)) summed up the situation succinctly (6 iv):

"Race is the great, silent issue in this election. It is driving everything. Out there in the real world, away from Westminster, Notting Hill and the broadcasting studios, the electorate in the marginal seats over which the parties are now fighting is obsessed with immigration. These voters seethe over confused groups of immigrants, asylum-seekers and gypsy travellers who appear to them to get away with breaking all the rules and living off everybody else. They don't pay taxes, they claim benefits, they use the NHS and they get "our" houses. And they seem to be beyond the law."

However, rather than address the transmogrification of Britain into a slave society based on cheap (and sometimes coerced) immigrant labour (and laying off 2.7 million Whites as "sick" - fit only to vote Labour by post), the PeeCee brigades opened the UK's election campaign by charging British National Party leader Nick Griffin (MA, Cantab.) with private race hate thought (Scotsman, 6 v). {A dignified challenge by the BNP to the BBC's race-unrealist coverage of modern Britain was mounted by Chairman Griffin, 28 iii.}

Brunel University's Vice-Chancellor, Steven Schwartz, deplored two of his academics, Saeed Vaseghi (Engineering) and Gurdish Webster (Computing) for having cost the university œ60,000 in "unwarranted demands for money" to compensate them for alleged racism.


EUGENIC EUTHANASIA FLOURISHING IN FLANDERS

While British conservatives whipped themselves into a frenzy about `late' (post 20 weeks) abortions, aiming to take a leaf out of President Bush's electoral book, across the North Sea in Belgium, paediatricians got on with despatching severely congenitally malformed and handicapped infants: a survey found doctors in Flanders responsible for about half of all deaths in the first year of life, either by suspending treatment of administering lethal doses of painkillers (Lancet; Daily Telegraph, 9 iv).


KEY TgF PROPOSAL RESURFACES

Just nine years after Mr Tony Blair's 1996 educational proposals and those of The g Factor sank under the weight of lefties pouncing on them, ideas of streaming state schoolchildren by ability were announced as being about to be put into practice in England (Sunday Telegraph, 10 iv). "A secondary school in Hampshire is to become the first state school in England to allocate all children to lessons by ability rather than age," said Education Correspondent Julie Henry. Apparently, "from September, pupils at [1,100-strong] Bridgemary School, in Gosport [a deprived area], will be taught in mixed-age classes in a radical initiative aimed at stretching the most able and helping pupils who have fallen behind." The large-scale development followed promising pilot schemes in primary schools and secondary school classes. {At the same time, nine years after Wiley DePublisher suppressed The g Factor, Conservative leader Michael Howard announced as part of his election campaigning that it was NOT `RACIST' to worry about the large-scale immigration to which Britain had been subjected -and was promptly denounced as "too harsh" by the terminally enfeebled tabloid Times newspaper.}


ELECTION CAMPAIGN ON TIP-TOE

The UK General Election became the most boring in living memory (except perhaps for voters in a few score heavily `targeted' marginal seats). For the three great topics of WAR, RACE, and WOMEN could not be addressed by the UK's cowardly politicians. The Iraq war could not be mentioned by Labour because the issue split the party; and it could not be mentioned by the Conservatives because of their leader, Michael Howard's hopeless muddle (having backed the war but later repenting) - which had got him banned from Mr Bush's neoconservative White House. Race could not be mentioned (let alone the words Black, Pakistani, psychotic or Islamofascist) since anti-racism had become the national religious piety (at least among media folk). So Mr Howard (campaign slogan the evasive "Are you thinking what we're thinking?") had to settle for occasionally mentioning immigration which he applauded and wanted only to `control' in unspecified ways -- even then he found himself regularly condemned as getting too close to the dreaded `racism', with some of these accusations coming from senior members of his own party.

Lastly, the failure of the UK's women to have enough babies (a leading cause of dullard immigration) was off the table for all parties, even apparently the British National Party and UKIP, so any resumption of breeding by the country's females was left up to the Roman Catholic Church -- admittedly enjoying greater popularity among the Great and Good than since the days of Bloody Mary, but still showing no sign of being able to enforce its injunctions against contraception on its flock. Pythonesque was the only word for these `Don't talk about it' prevarications. What a Shhhhhhhhhhhelection!

{The new Pope, Benedict XVI, emerged as a man of some promise with regard to EUROPE - another topic umentioned in the Shhhhhhhelection. Less pally that his predecessor at the Vatican Pope Jean-Paul II, had in his days as Cardinal Ratzinger warned of the growing Muslim threat to Europe and said Turkey's proposed entrance to the European Union would be "an enormous mistake." In similar vein, he had condemned relativism (the essential feature of postmodernism) as egoism and complained that multiculturalism could lead to people "fleeing from what is one's own. For good measure, he sagely condemned rock music - which reaches ever greater heights of filth, barbarism and psychosis.}

{The Daily Telegraph's columnist Ferdinand Mount also noted Britain's political pussyfooting, writing: "We deserve better than to be turned into one big ostrich farm" (20 iv). Likewise, the Speccie's political correspondent, Peter Oborne, complained of "this dull, passionless, hole-in-the-corner election" in which no express mention could be made of Britain's nature, identity or need (if any) for nationally-provided services (23 iv). And an edition of BBC1's flagship show `Question Time' went out including a vague discussion of `immigration' in which the words Black, Pakistani and IQ were never used except (the first two) by a fat frump white-haired `Green' accusing others of `racism' (21 iv).}

LETTER TO Times Literary Supplement (7 iii)

Dear Sir,
Facing the "30-point difference in IQ between whites and sub-Saharan blacks," Jerry Coyne (Times Literary Supplement, 25 Feb. 2005, pp. 3-4, `Legends of Linnaeus') reports he knows of "no evidence" for a genetic or evolutionary explanation of this racial difference. Well, Pittsburgh physiologists reported in 2000 that cognitive impairments are associated with the gene e4; and this gene is at least three times as common in Negroes, Pygmies and Bushmen as in East Asians, with whites falling in between (American Journal of Medical Genetics, Dec. 4; 96(6):707-11).

As to evolution, the selection pressure for higher intelligence in East Asians and Caucasians was probably the Ice Age. This mainly boosted those stuck or otherwise staying in northern latitudes, for other out-of-Africa emigrant groups who crossed Asia and escaped southwards (e.g. across the frozen Bering Strait southwards down into the warmer Americas) did not themselves get much of an IQ boost (Native Americans today having an average IQ of 89). Perhaps, in return for these advices, Jerry Coyne could reciprocate by providing his own evidence that, in height, "the Japanese are predicted to outgrow Americans within a decade" - upon which remarkable basis he expects a closing of the black-white IQ gap despite no narrowing at all of this gap having occurred during the whole past century of multi-billion-dollar humanitarian efforts in the USA directed to boosting black intelligence.

HERO OF EUTHANASIA

A brave ex-soldier, Andrew Wragg, 37, of Sussex, went on trial for smothering his ailing and wheelchair-bound ten-year-old son, Jacob, who was suffering the grotesque hereditary degenerative disease, Hunter's Syndrome, involving dwarfism, deafness, respiratory problems, hyperactivity, aggression, claw hands, digital contracture, excessive hair growth, double incontinence and predictable death in adolescence. Wragg and his pretty wife, 41, had been under great strain after two miscarriages and a termination when it was found that a new unborn child was carrying the disease, and Mrs Wragg had once told doctors not to resuscitate Jacob if he lost vital signs. In evidence a nurse at Jacob's school who knew the family said Andrew Wragg and his son "adored each other"; family and friends (including a former girlfriend) testified that he loved Jacob and got on well with him; and Andrew Wragg claimed actually to have had his wife's support at the time of the killing (Scotsman, 8 iii) - as suggested by her having "gone hysterical" (according to a female police officer) when police tried to resuscitate Jacob.

{The decorated ex-SAS man thus showed more sense than British law, which promptly put him on trial for murder though he himself had phoned the police immediately to admit manslaughter under diminished responsibility. Wragg killed his son immediately after returning from stressful service in Iraq, during which time Jacob had deteriorated so that he no longer recognized his father.} {Finally, the jury at Lewes Crown Court proved divided and was discharged - a fine victory for the courageous, sensible and humane Wragg, who turned out to be newly engaged to a "stunning brunette" (said the Sun).}


LEFT SPLITS OVER HARVARD PEECEE TYRANNY

Britain's Grauniad Education and the American Sociological Association continued to bash President Summers, and `Prof' Steve Jones (who snaffles Galton's money while disagreeing with Galton's views) and Baroness Susan Greenfield bad-mouthed Summers to the Observer; but Nature (3 iii) defended him as "a champion of scientific research" who merely needed to watch his lip and Times Higher quoted approvingly the verdict on today's Harvard University by ex-student Ross Gregory Douthat (author of Privilege): "intellectual rigour is eclipsed at Harvard by personal ambition and PC." America's Jewish Press (3 iii) carried a strongly supportive article from Ed Koch (Mayor of New York, 1978-1990) which concluded:

Shame on the presidents of three major institutions, Princeton, Stanford and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for joining the howling mob with their condemnation of Summers. If, under these circumstances, the president of Harvard can be brought down with The [New York] Times leading the pack, everyone is in danger.

(Ed Koch is a lifelong Democrat but voted Republican for the first time in 2004 since he found the Democrats' Presidential candidate John Kerry was insufficiently tough on terror.) The Stanford Daily also backed Summers to stay (3 iii), as did the Miami Herald's Ana Veciana-Suarez (5 iii) and palaeo-conservative top politico Pat Buchanan (8 iii, suggesting cogently that Summers' real sin against PeeCee religion was simply to mention the concept of "intrinsic aptitude" which could, after all, explain race as well as sex differences). {As to the original issue itself, a Gallup Poll showed only 10% of Americans believe `there is a male superiority in maths because of genetic factors present at birth' (10 iii) - a fine achievement for the left from a generation of its dominating state education.}


KINSEY BEATS PRUDES, FEMINAZIES AND PAEDOHYSTERICS

Celebrating the new biopic on the life of sex researcher Alfred Kinsey (whose Indiana University research institute faced down howling mobs in both 1953 and 1998), the Observer (6 iii) carried a sympathetic feature article saying that sex research on perversions was today accepted even in America's `Jesusland' mid-West.


TOP PEECEE GOON CAUSES CHAOS

Leftists and multiculturalists were thrown into a tizzy as the U.K.'s Black Commission for Racial Equality boss Trevor Phillips (who last year upset the applecart by calling for `integration' of immigrants - see this Diary for 2004) said some Black boys would benefit from segregated teaching that countered their culture in which "being clever is unfashionable." PeeCee people hurled themselves about fuming that such minimal and sensible attention to individual and group differences was likely to prove ineffective and even illegal, though Phillips had actually provided some evidence of successful segregation schemes. One Black head teacher thought Phillips' idea worth trying, but the National Association of Head Teachers condemned him as irresponsible. The BNP had a lot of fun with the issue: http://www.bnp.org.uk/news_detail.php?newsId=212. The Guardian carried a story of Black children complaining about Phillips's proposal for educational apartheid, one saying "It makes me feel like I am being put down"; and the paper's correspondents were also hostile; but a leading article admitted there might be something to be said for Phillips's idea, since new research in St Louis had found boys doing 21% better after eight months of being taught separately from girls. Phillips tried to cover his backside by demanding new efforts be made to penalize "racial misconduct" in policemen. (Mr Phillips was sending his own two daughters to the North London Collegiate School, where fees were œ9,500 a year.)


THE g FACTOR REACHES Spectator READERS

Nine years after The g Factor explained the need to educate children according to their abilities, and was promptly withdrawn for alleged `racism', its argument was summarized in words of one syllable for the Speccie by Daily Mail columnist Michael Hanlon. {A sign that the British right is gingerly taking its head out of the sand about genetic differences? For such daring souls, their first stop should be to read TgF itself - free and without worrying anyone will see them.}


TV ALLOWS A SMIDGEON OF RACE REALISM

Britain's Channel 4 TV, having first balanced its books with a programme urging that all desirous immigrants be promptly admitted, allowed whacky Sextator man Rod Liddle to interview demographer David Coleman (Oxford University) and worry a little about the future nature of Britain as immigrants and their babies reach 15% of the population by 2010, perhaps generating White flight as in Holland. Liddle even once mentioned the term `Black', saying that Blacks were rather (well, 35-fold) over-represented as carriers of HIV/AIDS. The price of this ripple of realism was that Enoch Powell had to be condemned as "paranoid" and wrong (though Enoch correctly predicted the rise and rise of PeeCee); and IQ received no mention - no more than did the names of Richard Lynn and myself.


BLACK PROBLEMS ADMITTED

As Prime Minister Blair announced a new bumper handout to Africa (so long as corruption figures could be fiddled downwards), the liberal-left Guardian admitted that sub-Saharan Africa had been in economic decline since 1980 and wrote (11 iii, `Analysis', Larry Eliot): "Africa's biggest challenge, if it is to compete in the global economy, is its deficit in human capital" - though IQ itself could not be mentioned. Rather backing this up, new figures from Britain showed that, while only 20% of Asians have partners outside their race, 30% of Black females do so, and 70% of Black males - Blacks apparently taking a dim view of their chances with their fellow ethnics (11 iii, Steve Pope). {With the Grauniad prepared to make such admissions, it was not too surprising that it should be "delighted" with Britain's judges and House of Lords over their standing up to the tin-pot tyrannizing of Messrs Blair and Clarke, both busily trying to rescind habeas corpus as their nationalism-avoiding response to Islamofascist terror (11 iii, Leader).}


ANTI-RACISTS MOCKED

With a little telephoning, journalist Sean Thomas (who kindly described me as a "noted psychologist" in the Speccie two years ago) discovered that Britain's major affirmative-racist organizations (Metropolitan Police, Commission for Racial Equality) back people for hiring and promotion simply on the basis of their self-declarations of race - so frit are they of admitting that race has anything to do with biology or genetics. Thanks to ST's work, the high road for White kids to get into Oxford became clear..


`LIBERTY vs HUMAN RIGHTS' -- EXCLUSIVE --

Such was the title of a fine leader in the Sunday Times (13 iii) complaining that Britain's subscription to the European Human Rights Act (or our judges' interpretation of that subscription) was putting the courts in control of matters that should be decided by Members of Parliament or just personal choice. In the past year, `human rights' have protected the privacy of celebrities Naomi Campbell (wanting to hide her drug addiction) and Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones (who had struck a lucrative deal that the only photos of their wedding would be by OK magazine); they have given British prisoners a princely œ162 million for having to use chamber pots at night; they have given gypsies common land without payment; they gave a Preston tax-evader œ10,000 because he had not been prosecuted in quite the right way; they overturned the decision of a Muslim headmistress that she didn't want her schoolgirls' bodies fully covered by the hilbab; they gave Army volunteers a right to "care" from regimental sergeant majors - warned not to taunt or tease teenage soldiers tired of doing press-ups; and they prevented several foreign Muslim males from being detained on serious warnings from the intelligence services. Correctly, the Sunday Times concluded that "the Human Rights Act has become the refuge for those with barely deserving and sometimes undeserving cases."

{Subsequently, Conservative leader Mr Michael Howard seriously courted popularity by promising to scrap Britain's Human Rights Act if it could not be sensibly amended. He called the HRA a "charter for chancers." - His move came in response to UK local authorities saying they would give up the task of moving on gypsies because of the latter's many Euro-decreed `rights.'}

{The Sun, the UK's top-circulation tabloid, quickly came out against puffed-up `human rights' for gypsies (18 iii); and, no sooner had I sent a message of support, the Sun was being discussed on BBC radio as likely to switch its support at the widely expected General Election to the Conservatives. Apparently, just as Mr Howard had found his stronger opposition in recent weeks to immigration and crime resonating with voters, the Sun had noticed higher-than-expected popular support for its anti-gypsy-`rights' campaign. Perhaps reciprocating the Sun's coming support, Mr Howard, speaking in Scotland, backed the paper's anti-`human-rights' position. He said the 1998 Human Rights Act was "a charter for chancers [that] makes a mockery of justice" by encouraging a tide of "politically correct" litigation.}


TOP LEFTIE DEPLORES "CEASELESS IMMIGRATION"

The cause of immigration realism was given an important boost as ex-New Statesman columnist Julie Burchill denounced much `asylum seeking' as just `slave labour' (Times (Review), 12 iii). "From now on," she wrote, "anyone who dismisses me as a racist because I am against ceaseless immigration to this country - by those tens of thousands of people each year who are in no peril whatsoever - and the inevitable driving down of the wages of the poorest that it brings, will be dismissed by me, in turn, as a mere stooge of the boss-class, a supporter of forced and/or slave labour and a despicable enemy of the multicoloured British working class."


DISCRIMINATION AT LAST!

It was learned from research at Oxford that the University discriminates against applicants who are female, Asian and have been educated at independent schools (Daily Telegraph, 15 iii). Evidently the University has been finding its way towards recognizing IQ as what it wants - and thus cut down on applicants who tend to over-use rote memory, hard work and cramming.

LEFTIE PROF. BACKS STREAMING

Nine years after The g Factor proposed reintroducing school streaming (e.g. via parental "track choice" ), Emeritus Professor Ted Wragg of Exeter University, a long-standing liberal-left exponent of egalitarianism and "modern education", wrote in the Guardian (G2, 1 ii, p.5) that he had never personally felt happy conducting mixed ability classes and that it was time to get the politicians out of the matter and leave the choice of streaming to schools and their heads.

RACE EXISTS -- FINAL SCIENTIFIC PROOF

Racial groupings match genetic profiles, Stanford study finds

STANFORD, Calif. - Checking a box next to a racial/ethnic category gives several pieces of information about people-the continent where their ancestors were born, the possible color of their skin and perhaps something about their risk of different diseases. But a new study by medical school researchers finds that the checked box also says something about a person's genetic background.

This work comes on the heels of several contradictory studies about the genetic basis of race. Some found that race is a social construct with no genetic basis while others suggested that clear genetic differences exist between people of different races.

What makes the current study, published in the February issue of the American Journal of Human Genetics, more conclusive is its size. The study is by far the largest, consisting of 3,636 people who all identified themselves as either white, African-American, East Asian or Hispanic. Of these, only five individuals had DNA that matched an ethnic group different than the box they checked at the beginning of the study. That's an error rate of 0.14 percent.

Neil Risch, PhD, a UC-San Francisco professor who led the study while he was professor of genetics at Stanford, said that the findings are particularly surprising given that people in both African-American and Hispanic ethnic groups often have a mixed background. "We might expect these individuals to cross several different genetic clusters," he noted. That's not what the study found. Instead, each self-identified racial/ethnic group clumped into the same genetic cluster.

The people in this research were from 15 locations within the United States and in Taiwan. This broad distribution means that the results are representative of racial/ethnic groups throughout the United States rather than a small region that might not reflect the population nationwide.

For each person in the study, the researchers examined 326 DNA regions that tend to vary between people. These regions are not necessarily within genes but are genetic signposts on chromosomes that come in a variety of forms at the same location.
Without knowing how the participants had identified themselves, Risch's team ran the results through a computer program that grouped individuals according to patterns of the 326 signposts. This analysis could have resulted in any number of different clusters, but only four clear groups turned up. And in each case the individuals within those clusters all fell within the same self-identified racial group. "This shows that people's self-identified race/ethnicity is a nearly perfect indicator of their genetic background," Risch said.

This work could influence how medical research is carried out. Often researchers ask study participants to identify their race and ethnicity at the beginning of a clinical trial. The researchers can then follow people of different racial/ethnic groups to see which group is more likely to get a particular disease or respond well to a new treatment. This information can help future doctors know which patients may need additional disease screening or should receive one treatment over another.

But recently some researchers have moved to examining genetic differences between participants rather than relying on race and ethnicity. Their reasoning is that genetic differences may be a more precise tool for tracking groups of patients. Risch points out that this genetic analysis is costly. If people fall into the same groups using self-identified race as using genetics, then that could bring down the expanding cost of medical research.

HOLLAND TO TEST IMMIGRANTS

The Dutch Government laid proposals before parliament to test all non-European would-be immigrants for knowledge of Holland"s history, culture and language. In reparation, hopefuls would be sent videos to their home countries showing topless Dutch bathing beauties, Dutch homosexuals marrying and Dutch protest marches against coloured immigration. {Meanwhile Dutch lawmaker Gert Wilders, having demanded the expulsion of Muslims convicted of crimes, continued to need the protection of six bodyguards as he dealt in hiding with death threats pouring in by email and internet from irate Islamofascists (American Renaissance, ii).}


OWN-RACE AND PRO-WHITE BIASES WIDELY FOUND

In a test of unconscious bias supplied on the internet (https://implicit.harvard.edu) from Harvard University and taken by millions, multicultural propaganda was shown to have had little influence: 88% of Whites found it easier to link White faces to "good" words, compared to only 48% of Blacks. Evidence that very young children require no instruction to recognize racial differences was summarized by Steve Sailer (drawing on the 1998 work of liberal anthropology professor Lawrence Hirschfeld).


RACE REALISM -- Geldof

Aid organizer Sir Bob Geldof elicited accusations of "racism" when he said he was "profoundly bored" with the problems of Africa, where "the pace of change is far too slow and Africans excuse their own complicity in exactly the same way as our politicians"(American Renaissance, ii).



MALE BRAIN 4% FASTER

On the heels of the abysmal climb-down by Harvard President Larry Summers (above), London School researchers studying hundreds of students in Canada found neural conduction velocity (NCV) was 4% faster in the brains of males -- which they inclined to attribute to the male"s greater percentage of white (vs grey) matter required to support superior male spatial abilities (Sunday Times, 6 ii; icWales, 7 ii).

The result {by zoologistEd Reed and psychologists Philip Vernon and Andrew Johnson, and due to appear in the prominent journal Intelligence} was promptly condemned by Marxist Prof. Steven Rose and ex-Stalinist feminist and lesbian writern Bea Campbell. The diplomatic (and race-shy (e.g. Diary, ii 2003) Harvard professor Steven Pinker applied his talents to suggesting that his boss, Summers, may just have been a teeny-weeny bit wimpish in his multiple apologies to feminists for suggesting that human psychological sex differences might just a tiny bit possibly be genetic.

HARVARD CIVIL WAR HOTS UP

The feminastie torturers of President Lawrence Summers (see January Diary) got new ammunition in a transcript of a talk by Summers early in January to a private meeting of economists. The document showed Summers had noted (as had the London School by 1985) that human females show a narrower range of scoring on many variables -- e.g. height, weight, propensity for criminality, overall IQ, mathematical ability, and scientific ability. He had also shocked some of his "academics" by observing that there aren"t many Jews in farming, Whites in basketball or Catholics in investment banking (ABC News, 19 ii; Daily Telegraph, 19 ii). Summers also suggested that married academic women may be rather workshy by Harvard standards and wondered whether Harvard"s preferential hiring of minorities was an unfailing success. Summers' flirtation with genetic explanations followed on the heels of top Finnish economist Tatu Vanhanen backing low IQ as the explanation for Black Africa's problems. Summers was sent messages of condemnation from the presidents of Princeton, Stanford and MIT, but not from the president of Yale. He was defended by leading articles in the Washington Post, 19 ii, the Daily Telegraph, 19 ii, the Financial Times, 19 ii, and Business Investors" Daily, 19 ii, and by columnists Kathleen Parker in the Orlando Sentinel and Steve Sailer in VDare (20 ii); Newsweek called Summers" speech "ill-advised" but noted that undergraduates at and investors in Harvard had proved supportive; but Britain"s dear old Grauniad backed the feminasties, if only in its "Education" section (21 ii) and the Washington Post felt obliged to air irate feminazies claiming that "Summers's comments were without scientific merit" (21 ii).

LEFTIST FACES DOWN PEECEE

Markedly braver before the modern Inquisition than President Summers (above) was London"s elected mayor, Ken Livingstone. After he had (apparently in his cups) criticized a pestering Jewish journalist working for the right-of-centre Evening Standard as behaving "like a concentration camp guard", retractions were called for by the Board of Deputies of British Jews, by P.M. Tony Blair and by the gay rights group Outrage! and Livingstone was to be "looked into" by the Commission for Racial Equality. Unfazed, however, Livingstone refused to issue any apology (in this very different from the effusively placatory Summers) saying he didn"t see why he should "say words I do not believe" (thus providing quite a model to the cowards of British and American academia who have long declined to speak the truth about race differences, sex differences and paedophilia).

The Government's plan to criminalize `incitement to religious hatred' began to be challenged across a healthily wide range of the political spectrum, e.g. by left-wing author Marek Kohn and right-wing Ann Widdecombe M.P. and including the centrist think-tank Civitas, Editor Charles Moore in the Daily Torygraph and the Associate Editor of the Sextator, Rod Liddle - who further questioned the arrest of B.N.P. leader Nick Griffin (Spectator, 1 i 2005). Nine years after the depublication of The g Factor, perhaps the great and good are waking up to the nature of the left's post-Cold War peecee project..


`CLEVER DEVILS GET THE BIRD'

IQ enjoyed an unusually pleasant outing for the New Year as many newspapers and magazines carried the story (from Personality & Individual Differences) that a high IQ helps males (but not females) to get a spouse: among 900 British subjects tested at age 11 in 1964, 88% of the high-IQ males went on to marry but only 82% of the high-IQ females (Sunday Times, 2 i 2005).


SEX DIFFERENCE RECOGNIZED

The European Commission withdrew its absurd "gender directive" which had specified that women must pay the same levels of car insurance premium as men (Scotsman, 4 i).


PEECEE CONDEMNED

A fine summary and condemnation of the Blair Government's `obsessive' pursuit of PeeCee appeared in Japan Times, 4 i (from a former UK Ambassador to Japan). It included the paragraph: "Political correctness seems to extend to almost all aspects of private life as British politicians, with their tendency to react without adequate thought to what they perceive as popular concerns, often seem to behave toward the British public like nannies or nursemaids attempting to discipline the children in their care."


IMPORTANCE OF INTELLIGENCE RECOGNIZED

After the Sumatra tsunami horror, following a failure to purchase scientific warning advice from American seismologists, Thailand's Prime Minister vowed to raise the IQ of Thai children by 25% over the next decade (MCOT, 8 i).


AFFIRMATIVE RACISM QUESTIONED

Forty years after Presidents Kennedy and Johnson unleashed `affirmative action' on America, three books (incl. one by Black economist, Thomas Sowell) reported that no one really knew whether AA benefited anyone or whether it actually contributed negatively to community to community relations and put the public at serious risk from actually incompetent `professionals' given meaningless qualifications under AA (The Nation, 24 i). So much for multi-billion dollar expenditures, light years of study by social scientists and ongoing cashflow for lawyers arguing the toss!


TOP LEFTIST SLAMS LABOUR `DIKTATS'

Calling himself a "despairing libertarian", Paul Barker, who long edited the liberal-leftist New Society, deplored Labour's failure to defend Sikh playwright Gurpreet Bhatti (see above) and Labour's efforts to abolish secret balloting, to introduce ID cards, to ban foxhunting and to forbid any vigorous criticism of religions (Guardian, 10 i). As to the latter proposal, he concluded: "This anti-libertarian law is proposed as a gross sectarian palliative for mere political gain: the prospect of more Labour votes from Muslims."


BLACK `PEACEKEEPER' PAEDOPHILES

Blacks employed as peacekeepers in the Congo were found to be having sex with 13-year-old girls after paying just a few eggs and dollars. No complaints were heard from Western feminist groups -- usually so shocked by paedophilia, but preferring to pay the usual tax of never criticizing other `minorities.'


ENORMOUS IMMIGRATION RACKET CRACKED

According to the Guardian newspaper (10 i) (Sun 11 i), Britain now has thousands of foreign gangmasters each commanding one or two dozen illegal immigrants seeking work and citizenship in Britain.


`NO BIG CASH INJECTION FOR AFRICA!' - Economist.

After Chancellor Gordon Brown felt an itch to throw a new vast sum of UK taxpayers' dosh at Africa's self-inflicted problems, Indian economics professor Meghnad Desai, at the London School of Economics, poured cold water on the idea (Independent, 11 i). Pointing out that, thirty years ago, Africa was better off than Asia, but that by 2004 this had reversed, Professor Desai favoured trade liberalization, encouraging investment by diaspora Africans in the West and backing export industries. But he said Africa definitely did not need "a massive amount of money thrown at it" and added: "Africa has had money in the past but has either not used it properly or misused it for the private benefit of the few, not the many."


PRINCE'S HUMOUR SHOCKS WEE LEFTIES

After a Christmas where the Queen cornily devoted her (supposedly personally written) world-wide broadcast to backing mad and monstrous multiculchalunacy, 20-year-old Prince Harry took the bit between his teeth and sported a swastika at a London fancy dress party on the theme `colonials and natives.' It was, after all, sixty years since we were fighting and beating the Germans. So a little youthful irony about royal third-cousins could have been in order - after all, the Germans were never very good at empire. But, unfortunately for Harry, the British tabloid press (now including the Times) was, as ever, determined to maintain its `moral supremacy' by re-fighting WWII -- failing to acknowledge that Communist Stalin killed far more millions of people than did National Socialist Hitler. In particular, it delights in continuously expanding the number of things (`inappropriate touching', speech - even in private, now apparel) to which modern Brits can reasonably affect righteous `sensitivity': for newspapers thrive on arguments quite as much as on topless celebrities. Thus Britain's ludicrous, uneducated, left-selected and propagandized press-pack descended upon Prince Harry - conclusively showing how such socialistic farts as themselves misunderstand the modernity of good-humoured youth and their own irrelevance as servants of leftist dogma. By contrast, some 40% of correspondents in the Sun said (effectively) `Give the boy a break!' and one pointed out that going to a fancy dress party as a pirate, Napoleon, a tart or the Devil does not mean that the partygoer supports any of those enterprises.

{Harry should have seized on this opportunity to renounce his third-in-line claim to the throne, thus putting up two fingers to the zealots of the tabloids and freeing himself for the career as a polo player which he supposedly craves. Renunciation would also free him from his cage, get the spotlights off him, stop the demeaning chatter about his mediocre IQ and solve the problem that his third-in-line status is anyhow insecure. - This is because many think his father to have been James Hewitt -- not Prince Charles - and because he will anyhow be overtaken as soon as Prince William has a child, which scores of thousands of top class Anglo-Saxon fillies are determined to ensure.}

{Happily the Prince was defended by Adam Nicolson in the Daily Telegraph and in no less than three columns of the Sunday Telegraph, one saying it was "literal-mindedness bordering on autism to assume he was in some way endorsing fascist views just because he wore a Nazi uniform" and another that the real Nazi-lovers with whom Mr Blair readily co-operates are the IRA, never unhappy to remember with thanks the pre-1945 Nazi contributions to their war chest. A majority of British 18-24-year-olds declined to see what all the fuss was about - suggesting that years of `anti-Nazi' indoctrination at their comprehensive schools had been counter-productive. Sadly neither such points nor the excuse of Harry's sad childhood will cut any ice with the world's socialist and republican journalists over the moon at having a classic image linking monarchy to Nazism. The Prince was also defended by the experienced Magnus Linklater in Scotland on Sunday, 16 i; by columnist Cristina Odone in the Observer, 16 i, who said "He is neither a Nazi sympathiser nor a Holocaust denier. He is, quite simply, 20."; and by an editorial in the Times of India (18 i). One plus for Harry was that the revelation that he had a brunette constantly on his knee at the `colonials and natives' party seemed likely to lose him his girlfriend of the past nine months, blonde Chelsy Davy, the ditzy daughter of a millionaire having revoltingly close links to Zimbabwe's tyrant Robert Mugabe (Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, 16 i). Another was that the great Paul Johnson backed him: My advice to him is to take no notice, cheer up, and follow his instincts.}


WOODHILL/C.R.A.C.K. BACK-OUT EXPLAINED

That the Woodhill Foundation ended its kind 4-year support for me in 2004 was probably explained by http://www.houstonpress.com/issues/2003-02-27/news/feature_4.html. Evidently, I am too hot to handle in a country where even re-elected Pres. Dubbya feels obliged to keep on roping in Mexican migrants. Still, I wish C.R.A.C.K. well and hope Jim Woodhill's support for it, dissociated from me, will bring real advances for the eugenic cause.


FEMINIST FAILS TO HACK IT

Britain's top feminist, the self-contradictory and elephantine Cambridge and Warwick intellectual, Germaine Greer, had hissy fits with others in the Celebrity Big Brother House on UK Channel 4, then became tearful and left the House. Having first said she wanted `the challenge', GG had found herself confronted by a male chauvinist of her own age and, when trying to arrange a `revolution' among the housemates, quickly got nowhere - with a Black woman eager to retain the `crown' given her by BB. GG's exit was deemed a "humiliation" by the Independent's columnist Janet Street-Porter (13 i) and by the Melbourne Herald Sun; and other commentators called her "na‹ve", "high-handed" and "a shameless self-publicist" and said her "time was up" as a feminist icon. To cap it all, GG tried to attribute her exit not to her losing arguments but to her sympathy for a fellow housemate bullied by BB - yet that housemate had received more sympathy from the male chauvinist than from GG. Even bolshie Times (ex-New Statesman) feminist could not back GG: "But Ms. Greer's attack offended another Times columnist, Julie Burchill, a "Big Brother" fan whose article on the matter carried the headline "My Feminist Hero Has Become a Rancid Bore." "It is rather offensive to those who have spent time in fascist prisons - or even people who have two brain cells to rub together - to compare a game show to a fascist prison," Ms. Burchill wrote, accusing Ms. Greer of failing to understand "the risibly obvious fact that this 'Big Brother' was not the original oppressive brute, as created by George Orwell," but rather a "pantomime villain toying with a few pampered volunteers."


`RACIST' WINS YOUNG POLITICO CONTEST - a visual aid for flatlined `Tory' leader Michael Howard..

ITV's Pop Idol-type competition to find the most promising young politician of 2005 was won by a competitor proposing what he called a `cabbie's agenda' including the mandatory castration of paedophiles, the legalisation of all drugs, the repeal of the human rights act, a massive prison-building scheme and an immigrant deportation programme that would reduce Britain's population by 20 million. Subsequently, the victor, Rodney Hylton-Potts, who planned to stand for Parliament as an independent M.P. against `Tory' leader Michael Howard, was revealed as an ex-jailbird and said to have made `racist' remarks about the `good old days' of the 1960s before Britain's coloured immigrants began to arrive in bulk (Observer, 16 i). 80% of phone-in voters chose Hylton-Potts, but the TV company did not announce this - presumably for fear of upsetting peecee supporters of dullard immigration.


FEMININNIES SHOCKED BY HARVARD BOSS

The president of Harvard University, Lawrence H. Summers, sparked an uproar at an academic conference in Cambridge, Massachusetts when he said that innate differences between men and women might be one reason fewer women succeed in science and math careers (Boston.com, 17 i). Summers also questioned how much of a role discrimination plays in the dearth of female professors in science and engineering at elite universities. And he added: ''Research in behavioral genetics is showing that things people previously attributed to socialization weren't" due to socialization after all. One top feminist sitting near the president closed her laptop walked out and others told journalists she felt she would have "either blacked out or thrown up" - no contribution to diminishing the stereotype that women are more hysterical than males.. Subsequently, as clans gathered, prominent Harvard female professors (e.g. the head of sociology) expressed their predictable outrage at their president's minimal truth-telling (New York Times, 19 i). Heredity-backing (but race-avoiding) Prof. Steven Pinker backed President Summers, saying: "People who storm out of a meeting at the mention of a hypothesis, or declare it taboo or offensive without providing arguments or evidence, don't get the concept of a university or free inquiry". Top columnist Andrew Sullivan (a homosexual) also backed President Summers, writing: "The assumption of the "blank slate" of human biology is partially what drives social engineering projects such as affirmative action; but the blank slate is fast becoming obsolete to even a casual observer of biology or evolutionary psychology".

{In the early 1990s, the researches of eminent young economist and public servant Summers had won him brownie points with lefties by claiming a very high return on investing in educating girls in developing countries. But at the same time his partner (today not mentioned) bore him twin daughters, so perhaps that began a conversion to psychological realism. In 2003, President Lawrence Summers, appointed 2001, shocked staff and students at a graduation ceremony by announcing he wanted to restore the undergraduate course Fine Arts 13 - a course in Western art and art history previously dropped as insufficiently peecee and multicultural. A McDNL supporter wrote from Washington: "Congratulations to Larry Summers for saving Harvard from itself! This is a real leader - notably when he squeezed out Professor of Black Studies, Cornel West. (West was inflating grades, making a rap album, and campaigning for Al Sharpton. Summers suggested he devote more time to scholarly work, so West left for Princeton -- calling Summers a racist but freeing Harvard of a star time-waster and nuisance".) Also Summers has pushed hard to get back Harvard's ROTC -- abolished during the Vietnam War.}

{Maybe things were changing at Harvard? - Its magazine `Harvard Crimson' carried an article re Prince Harry saying Stalin was as bad as Hitler (21 i).} {LATE EXTRA Sadly, despite the high-level support of Pinker and Sullivan, President Summers' beating at the hands of scores of top lesbian academics and hangers-on proved sufficient to elicit from him three apologies of increasing servility and a promise to discuss "concrete concessions to women -- perhaps guarantees of new hiring" - i.e. (as Steve Sailer put it) reparations. Message: a Harvard supremo can afford to annoy multiculturalists, Blacks and pacifists - but wymmin are another matter, for they are the true spinal column of PeeCee.}


PSYCHOBIOLOGICAL SEX DIFFERENCE CONFIRMED

Further confirmation arrived from the University of Giessen, Germany, of the link - long known to the London School (Guardian, 31 iii 2000) -- between having a relatively long ring finger [measuring from the crease nearest the palm, comparing to the index finger] and being male, being masculinized, lesbian and having higher spatial and mathematical ability (BBC, 24 i; Petra Kempel, 2005, Intelligence).} {The New York Post summed up the universities' cowardice well: `such is lockstep academia, marching to the music of PeeCee.'}

A note on sex differences in maths from Human BioDiversity e-group member `Griffe du Lion': "..the notion that men and women are cognitively different, is easily and directly observed. The best data I have seen comes from Project Talent (1963), where more than 73,000 15 year olds, selected to be representative of all 15 year olds in the US, were given a battery of 23 cognitive tests. In mathematical ability, the study found a mean M/F difference of 0.12SD and a variance ratio (M/F) of 1.20. These numbers account for a trove of facts. Here's one: There are 139 regular (not foreign) members of the National Academy of Sciences in the disciplines of mathematics and applied mathematical sciences. Six of these outstanding mathematicians are women. Based on the Project Talent data we predict 7."

A review of sex differences in the Sunday Times (Sarah Baxter, News Review, 30 i) gave prominence to the views of Simon Baron-Cohen, Steven Pinker and Charles Murray that genetic factors were substantially involved.


BLACK RACISM EXPOSED - AND HOW!

A survey of Black employers in Philadelphia found that 82% of their staff were Black - though Blacks make up only 13% of the U.S. population (American Renaissance, 12 i). So much for Blacks' multicultural aspirations! {The Wall Street investment firm, Bear Stearns, estimated there were 20 million illegal immigrants working in the USA (Am.Ren. , 17 i).


HITLER'S PSYCHOPATHY PINNED DOWN

Medical notes discovered by two historians for a female cousin of Adolf Hitler revealed her diagnosis as "schizophrenic mental instability, helplessness and depression, distraction, hallucinations and delusions" (Independent, 19 i; Daily Telegraph, 19 i; Washington Times, 19 i). Two years younger than Hitler, Aloisia Veit's (from the Schicklgruber line - e.g. David Irving, 2005, Daily Telegraph, 20 i) condition was so severe in the 1930s that she was mostly confined within a caged iron bed (a practice that was widespread even prior to Nazi times) in the years before she was finally gassed in 1940 as part of Hitler's general dispensation for the seriously mentally ill. {Her uncle -- Hitler's father, Alois Schickelgruber (the bastard son of Maria Anna Schicklgruber) -- had changed his own family name from that of his mother to that of his father, Hiedler, a man of some status, and had impregnated his servant girl Klara Schicklgruber, in 1876. Though there had always been reports of suicide, instability and mental retardation in Hitler's family - leading the New York Times to say, on Hitler's death in 1945, that "the family showed definite tendencies to illness and mental instability" - this was quite the most certain report as to the likelihood of Hitler's carrying a few genes for psychosis (accounting for both his criminality and his creativity, as long envisaged by London School leader Hans Eysenck). Psychology's biggest embarrassment of the twentieth century - being unable to explain Hitler's personality - thus came to an end (for those who accept the importance of genetic factors..). Hitler would have been further at risk because his father had married his own niece (dismissing the rumour that Hitler's mother, Klara Hiedler, had fallen pregnant by a Jew). Hitler's sister Paula was mentally retarded. If Hitler knew of Aloisia's condition, this could explain how little he ever divulged about his family.} {Despite what must seem the many disappointments of psychology in the eyes of its many wet students, new Government figures showed there were in 2004 more psychology undergraduates in Britain than in physics, chemistry and engineering combined.}


MUSLIM FANATICS CHALLENGED

Holland -- After 75 days in hiding from Islamofascist death threats, pretty Sudanese victim of Islamic practices, Ayaan Hirsl Ali, who had worked with the murdered Theo van Gogh (see above), returned (with the help of an armoured Mercedes limousine and police bodyguard) to her seat with the Liberal Party in the Dutch Parliament. To thunderous applause, she urged Muslims to renounce violence to women and swore, "I am going on." {There was less hope for the feminist cause in Iraq, where top feminist Salama al-Khajati, a dentist and member of Iraq's governing council, said the American-British intervention had "set back the cause by decades."} In Britain, Islamofascists awoke in shock to find leftist Kenan Malik criticizing them in the Sunday Times (the Islamic Human Rights Council had made the mistake of attacking leftists Saint Polly Toynbee as well as the BNP's Nick Griffin) - 31 i, `Islamophobia is such a convenient myth.'


SWASTIKA DEFENDED

As Europe's peecee hysterics moved in the aftermath of the Prince Harry `outrage' to ban public display of the swastika (which would then become an even more striking image when seen in private, e.g. in libraries or lecture halls), Hindu and Buddhist groups prepared to defend their own religious use of the symbol as a good luck charm (BBC, 19 i).


WHY NOT HUMILIATE MUSLIM LOOTERS?

As the British Army began an amazingly drawn-out one-month court martial of three of its soldiers for getting captured Iraqi looters to simulate an appearance of sodomy for the camera, Abu Ghraib-style, the jesters were ably defended in the Daily Telegraph by associate editor Patrick Bishop (20 i) who pointed out that "at any hour of the day or night in prisons in Saudi Arabia, Syria and Egypt, far worse is being done than anything allegedly perpetrated by the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers" and that no Arab prison guards would ever go on trial for their cruelties. He could have added that, in wartime Britain, the on-the-spot punishment for looting was death; and that the sentence for looting in the Arab world is surgical removal of the hand.


AFTER MULTICULTURALISM?

Stung by the liberal-left worthies who in 2004 rejected the left's beloved multiculturalism and said integration was necessary (see above, `WE MUST SCRAP MULTICULTURALISM' and "SEISMIC SHIFT" AS BLAIR DUMPS MULTICULTURALISM, April, 2004), the Guardian (21 i) mounted a survey of London. Pictures of cheery coloured immigrants and their food were used to suggest that diversity could indeed be celebrated in the now 40% non-White city (50% non-White in Inner London); but there were text admissions that, far from being tolerant of each other, London's different ethnic groups are simply indifferent to and ignorant of each other and only interested in rumours of other groups eating dogs or practising voodoo. In particular, it was admitted by star columnist Gary Younge (a Black writer who led the charge against The g Factor) that "Islam is no longer a religion like another [but] a highly political identity" - though this was blamed on Muslims having been "mistreated differently." Removal of the mistreated was not considered an option; and the Guardian's writers had no other suggestions for rectifying the mess of multiculturalism which, crystallizing into apartheid, had Muslims and Blacks as the main ethnic groups concentrated on Tube lines in central London - so most able to paralyze the capital.


`RIVERS OF BLOOD' - NuTories.

Desperate at poor poll ratings, Conservative leader Michael Howard at last decided on a modicum of race realism and promised reductions in immigration and asylum swindling ooops seeking; and (like Enoch Powell in 1968) he said that he wished to forestall race riots on Britain's streets (Observer, 23 i). {However, though wanting a points system for putative immigrants, he could not bring himself just what was wrong with the present situation - Black dullness and criminality, Muslim illiteracy and enslavement of women and children; and he did not say how to deal with Britain's strong demand for labour - presumably by stopping kids reading social science (thus equipping themselves only for jobs in the ever-expanding NuLabour bureaucracy) and by rewarding educated girls who have babies (e.g. by paying their university fees).} {Howard's speech, supposedly putting anti-dullard-immigration `at the heart' of the Conservative manifesto after wasted years of BNP-bashing, was greeted with predictable catcalls: "desperate" (Liberal leader Charles Kennedy), "intolerant and disastrous" (Scottish National Party), `demented' (Commission for Racial Equality boss Trevor Phillips), "immoral" (Independent), `irresponsible and irrational' (Guardian), "callous" (Independent columnist Yasmin Alibhai Brown), "blatant political opportunism" (Black Labour MP Diane Abbott), "rabble-rousing, inflammatory, irresponsible" (Daily Mirror) and "shocking" (Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants). The European Union and the United Nations denounced Howard's plan to process all asylum request offshore as "unworkable" and the United Nations High Commission for Refugees said it would anyhow not cooperate. The Liberals prepared to denounce `racism' and challenged Howard to spell out which nationalities would be affected by his proposed `cap' on immigration. But the Daily Torygraph threw itself into the chase with a supportive main story on its front page and a following leader; and even the Guardian admitted it was "right to say immigration more than doubled under Mr Blair" (in fact it tripled). Sadly, the tabloid Times found itself with its knickers in a twist so carried simply nothing - not even a letter about a story that dominated front-page headlines for three days - though it allowed `guest contributor' Camilla Cavendish to mention the d*p*rtation word and to urge "taking back our borders" (25 i). Likewise the Labour government said little (except that Howard's plans were "impractical") - fearing that the welcome from the Sun (25 i: "common sense," `gutsy'; `97% of our readers agree with Howard') would make immigration the biggest issue at the planned General Election in May. Star Independent columnist Bruce Anderson offered perhaps the wisest reaction (24 i): `our species finds it hard to live in multi-ethnic or multi-religious societies..Mr Howard should have said so earlier.' At the same time, the Home Office showed its own despicable attitude to immigration by trying to push out a Syrian family whose pretty 15-year-old daughter had been placed on the `gifted & talented' register at her Southampton school.}

{Mr Howard's speech produced only a fraction of the hoped-for poll boost for the Conservatives: by 27 i, voters were opting 35% for Labour, 34% for the Conservatives (December was 32%) and 22% for the Liberals. Howard had kept to his theme, throwing in that council spending on asylum swindlers ooops seekers had risen 30-fold since Labour took office in 1997 and cost œ2billion, but his changes would necessitate withdrawal from the European Union and do not in any case affect the scores of thousands arriving in Britain annually under the heading of `family reunion.' Some rightist columnists (Daily Mail, 28 i; Daily Telegraph, 28 i) began saying it was high time for Howard and others to stop denying they were racists and instead to identify with the British people past and present - and indeed with such great philosophers as Hume, Kant and William McDougall. But, fearing continued unrealism, the Telegraph's `Peter Simple', after saying that most Brits saw immigration, asylum seeking and ethnic minorities as all being "part of some largely racial phenomenon," added a Powellite prediction about third-world immigration: "Those who live longest will see the most, unfortunately for them." In the previous week, the British National Party's Press Officer had said on the BBC's `Moral Maze' programme that he was a "race realist" (as Phil Rushton, Richard Lynn, Glayde Whitney and I declared in 1996) - though even the BNP does not admit to `racism' tout court. Across the Pond heroic American Renaissance editor Jared Taylor came under attack for racism, suggesting that there, too, it was time for race realists to get together and be counted in their many millions. Could people really not manage to say they were racists in the sense of believing in deep-seated race differences and having an evidence-based tendency to prefer some races to others as immediate neighbours - but not in the second sense (distinguished e.g. in `Collins Gem' English Dictionary, 1987*) of being markedly antagonistic to any races or trying to inflame race hatred in others? If not, they would continue to give the impression that race could not be frankly discussed and that their moderate opposition to immigration was just hot air and political opportunism - as 58% of Brits told YouGov pollsters they thought of Mr Howard's latter-day conversion.}

PSYCHOBIOLOGICAL SEX DIFFERENCE CONFIRMED

Further confirmation arrived from the University of Giessen, Germany, of the link - long known to the London School (Guardian, 31 iii 2000) -- between having a relatively long ring finger [measuring from the crease nearest the palm, comparing to the index finger, hand outstretched] and being male, being masculinized, lesbian and having higher spatial and mathematical ability (BBC, 24 i; Petra Kempel, 2005, Intelligence). {The idiocy of Harvard's President Summers in surrendering to feminasties (above) was splendidly condemned by Lew Rockwell.}


SELECTIVE MEMORY ABOUT THE HOLOCAUST

A message from a Birmingham supporter on `Holocaust Day':

Those who cannot be bothered to remember the past are condemned to repeat it. We get many reminders about the Nazis' Holocaust but they are invariably of an entirely emotional "we must remember how terrible it was" nature. There is not the slightest effort to dispassionately ask the basic question "why?". Never is it pointed out that the Nazi era was the outcome of a long period of rulers of Prussia and Austria enthusiastically encouraging immigration and multi-cliquism.

Politics/sociology does not have easy yes/no answers except for those of a dogmatic goodies/baddies mentality. We now are seeing a huge rise of violent neo-Nazism in Russia, the logical following-on from the huge multi-cliquism experiment that was the USSR. Furthermore, the historical evidence strongly suggests, and it seems eminently logical anyway, that while multicliquery can keep itself friendly during economic ups (such as we have had over the past 50 years), yet when the economic downturn comes (as it certainly will) the multicliquery turns nasty. The only reason Enoch Powell's forecasts have not been abundantly realised already is because the economic downturn has been so long delayed by technological developments.

And there has anyway already occurred a massive erosion of the culture of tolerance and liberty in the UK -- a culture born of isolation on the edge of the ("old") world.. Human nature includes the capacity for altruism, heroism, and so on, but it also includes the capacity for genocidal hatred and bigotry, and no-one has explained how this is going to change at any time in the conceivable future. So it makes sense to design ones' societies with the realities of human limitations taken into account. And therefore not to force immigration and multi-cliquism on reluctant populations minding their own business in their own land in which they have invested over centuries (socially/culturally as well as economically).

Those who so loudly and insistently advocate the anti-democratic imposition of immigration and multi-cliquism should explain to us how they have solved such unending problems as of Northern Ireland and of Israel/Palestine. Such bloodletting ceased in Germany only because the victims themselves were deceased, along with many of the victimisers. To demand the imposition of further such endless tragedies, in the absence of any evidence of solutions, must surely be considered outrageously immoral to put it mildly. So how are YOU going to commemorate Holocaust Day? By cowardly sticking with the cosy conformity? Or by acknowledging the truth, the whole truth, and acting accordingly?

`HUMAN RIGHTS' NONSENSE CONDEMNED

Having found it was not entitled (because of having signed up to the European Convention on Human Rights to oblige Brussels) to detain mad Muslim foreign nationals on secret evidence from Britain's intelligence services, HMG moved to allow itself to condemn any and every person in Britain to years of house arrest and tagging as a terror suspect without production of evidence, accusers or even the charges. `An Englishman's home is his prison,' cried the Spectator; and the Telegraph's fragrant young Alice Thompson called for repeal of the Human Rights Act (previously known for giving prisoners the right to pornography and gipsies the right to squat) (`Better to scrap the Human Rights Act', 28 i); the leftist Observer's top columnist Mary Riddell also denounced the Government's "authoritarian" house arrest plan, as did the sainted founding editor of the Independent, Andreas Whittam Smith.


RACE REALISM DAWNS

81% of Dutch people (who should know, after profligate dullard immigration) said they saw Muslims as a threat, and 50% said they would move house if their area became 50% Muslim-dominated.


GALTON GRAZED BUT NOT GORED

A passably even-handed and entertaining summary of Sir Francis Galton's life and times was provided in The New Yorker (24 i) which, while missing Galton's work on twins, at least did not blame him for Auschwitz.

SMOKING LINKED TO LOW IQ

Intelligence tests - widely held by the media not to measure anything -- once more proved their worth in measuring and understanding major human problems as researchers in Aberdeen and Edinburgh found lower IQ's among the smokers in a study of 413 64-year olds (Sunday Times, 5 xii). Since ex-smokers had normal IQs and the smokers themselves had had normal IQs when first tested at school in the 1947 Scottish national survey, the researchers concluded that the smokers' 3% drop in IQ over time must have been due to their continued smoking and thus that "Smoking seriously damages your IQ." The smokers' IQ droop could not be explained by higher alcohol consumption or lower level of education; but unstimulating work - known independently to be associated with IQ droop -- remained to be investigated. {The finding made it into the columns of the Sun (`Years of cigs can cut IQ', 9 xii).}



POOR FAMILIES SHOULD RESTRICT THEIR BIRTH-RATE

Tory peeress Baroness Shreela Flather, 70, Britain's first `Asian' [actually Indian] to be elevated to the House of Lords (in 1990), urged procreational restraint for deprived and dysfunctional families, apparently on the grounds that they would not have enough time or money to give serious help to more than two children. Herself a mother of two, she was supported by an emeritus professor of University College London (a fellow member of the all-party parliamentary group on Population, Development and Reproductive Health) but the Sunday Times (5 xii) nevertheless rallied parents of large families to condemn Flather for `advocating eugenics.'

(Less-well-off parents in Britain have on average 2.7 ‡hildren, whereas middle-class parents have only 2.) {Shreela Flather, Baroness Warnock and a third member of the House of Lords subsequently told a parliamentary committee of their support for self-chosen euthanasia for the very sick and elderly - having changed their minds because of successful experiments with `living wills' in the Netherlands, Belgium and Oregon.}



EQUALITY OF ASPIRATION REFUTED

After P.M. Tony Blair urged all children to aim for the stars (Diary, November), he was promptly refuted by the case of Kimberly Fortier/Quinn, the ambition-crazed American socialite who had betrayed her millionaire husband to have two illegitimate children by the romantically obsessive and power-mad Home Secretary David Blunkett, finally ending with herself in psychiatric treatment after Blunkett's revenge when she tried to close down the affair. The matriarchal Sunday Times columnist, India Knight (looks somewhat Hindu), recorded: "People like Kimberly Quinn have never understood that most of us, the waitresses, the skivvy, the secretary - "the little people" - are big enough to remain "little" and secure enough to know that happiness and status are not necessarily related, that letting greed and ambition distort your world view is the quickest route to misery and that it's always a good idea to at least try to do the decent thing."



RACE REALISM GROWS

A representative poll of Brits reported in the Times (7 xii) found objections to immigration increased substantially over the previous decade - despite non-stop propaganda from Britain's political class and media to pretend that immigration is acceptable and even beneficial. Asked whether they wanted to reduce immigration, 74% said yes (compared to 65% in 1995); and, asked whether immigration caused crime, 39% said `yes' (compared to only 25% in 1995). The change among graduates was particularly striking, with the percentage wanting to reduce immigration rising from 33% to 56%.



COMPREHENSIVE MISMANAGEMENT PROVED

Eight years after Labour leader Tony Blair said his priorities in government would be "Education, education, education", the UK's state schools were announced to have dropped from 8th to 18th in OECD-organized testing of maths performance in 15-year-olds around the world. Significant falls for neosocialist Britain were also seen in science and reading.



AFFIRMATIVE RACISM REJECTED

American Renaissance (14 xii) reported good progress by American universities towards `colour-blind' admissions procedures, returning to judging potential students and scholars according to individual academic merit. The University of Michigan was having to face returning application fees and providing some compensation to 30,000 unfairly rejected Asian and White applicants.



DIVERSITY REJECTED

Two and a half years after this Diary and the Wall Street Journal announced the gross over-representation of leftists in academic life, the Economist (which has still to mention the 2002 book IQ and the Wealth of Nations) got around to telling its readers of the scandal of the left's closed shop in academia (15 xii). In a recent survey, the ratio of registered Democrats to registered Republicans among junior academic staff was 30-1.



ALTRUISM HERITABLE

In new research with the hundreds of identical and fraternal twins, ages 18-75, on the London University Register, top race-realist psychologist Phil Rushton confirmed the result of four previous studies that altruism, nurturance and nonaggression are about 42% heritable. The influence of shared upbringing was also 40% for girls but 0% for boys.

"1984" ARRIVES IN BRITAIN?

After its leader Nick Griffin and other members were arrested in dawn swoops, then released uncharged, the British National Party (15 xii) was understandably jubilant at the fall of its arch-persecutor, Home Secretary David Blunkett (whose officials had been helping him with his romantic homework, the man-flattering Sextator socialite Kimberly Quinn) - though the BNP was not so delighted by Blunkett's replacement, ex-Communist (from Cambridge University days) Charles Clarke.

{Soon, news came from Victoria, Australia of two evangelical ministers found guilty of `inciting hatred' of Islam by criticizing it as a violent religion; in St Andrew's University, Scotland, the student newspaper was closed down because a writer had made a joke against the Welsh; and British Muslim organizations went into outraged protest mode over Daily Telegraph editor Charles Moore mentioning the case for calling Mahomet a paedophile (he married a girl of nine).}



CENSORSHIP REVEALED

Coming clean about the dominance of PeeCee in British universities, the University of Durham forbade its academics to lecture on `sensitive' topics unless they first won the approval of their departmental ethics committee (Times Higher, 17 xii). The memo read: "All teaching that raises issues that are likely to cause offence to some... must have ethical approval from the departmental teaching and learning committee. It is anticipated that this may cover topics such as race, slavery, witchcraft, abortion, euthanasia, many gender issues etc."



SIKH WOMAN PLAYWRIGHT SILENCED BY VIOLENCE AND DEATH THREATS

As Britain's Sikh community demonstrated its non-acceptance of liberal multicultural values by chucking bricks at a Birmingham theatre till a locally popular play critical of temple gurus was taken off, the Times and Telegraph (21 xii) managed a little outrage (saying playwrights must be "free to offend" and that what was happening was nothing less than censorship) and the Birmingham Stage Company and London's Royal Court Theatre came forward offering to put on the play and give police and authorities a chance of redeeming themselves - but not a single British voice called for the prompt arrest of the Sikhs who had organized and joined in the vandalism after initially peaceful protests turned nasty.

{And the retreat of Christmas and Christianity continued - with a quarter of schools disallowing carols and the majority of local authorities allowing no mention of Christmas or Jesus at their `winter festivals.'}



THE TRUE RELIGION OF AMERICAN REPUBLICANS

George W. Bush's victory in the Presidential elections triggered much speculation as to the distinctive moral and religious values of modern American Republicans. But brilliant livewire columnist Steve Sailer discovered the main empirical basis of Bushite success: with correlations of around .90, Bush did best in States having their White 18-44-yr women married for longer, having lower house price rises in the previous twenty years (making houses more affordable), and having more children per White woman. Evidently, the Democrat vs Republican contrast had become one between people being primarily organized around the family or primarily organized around the state and its deceptive programmes of benefits, job creation, career feminism, affirmative racism and homosexualism. Steve deserves serious congratulation on this concrete breakthrough.

One day (when Occidental Quarterly get around to publishing it..), he will enjoy my family-backing article `Can scholarship `impact' on religion? - The case of The Bell Curve.' -- A SUMMARY:

The impact of Richard Herrnstein & Charles Murray's (1994) The Bell Curve on Western policy makers was minimal, probably because `political correctness' has for fifteen years been the virtual religion of the West. Here, the influence of psychology's London School as a whole on public debate (on the internet) is calculated to have been demonstrably small (1.66%) compared to the writings of leading postmodernists, anti-racists and feminists. No blame thus attaches to Herrnstein & Murray - they made no serious mistakes. `Postmodern'-prescribed political correctness, though emanating from authoritarians of the left (believing in the supremacy of will, not intelligence), has even been adopted by the forces of modern capitalism and globalization -- notably by such eminences as President George W. Bush and Prime Minister Tony Blair who continue to demand multicultural solutions to problems among the mutually hostile ethnic groups within Northern Ireland, Serbia, Nigeria, Rwanda/Burundi, Sudan and Iraq. Three `nationalist' ways of opposing PeeCee are considered; but opposition to multicultural globalization should probably back new choice-empowered extended families to replace Western statism of the past and individualism of the present. In such a mission, The Bell Curve should eventually prove a crucial work.

MAIN CONCLUSION: "..the challenge is clear: to move people from the statism of the first half of the twentieth century and the individualism of the second half towards a more reasonable, local, comprehensible, voluntary and manageable arrangement whereby the overarching state exists primarily to support organized groups of adults who make serious contracts to look after each other and their children and thus provide the chief social nexus of the West."

At a Christmas time when many state-run bodies (including half of Britain's schools) are refusing to mention the Holy Family -- or indeed Christmas itself -- it is good to have Steve's discovery that the cause of the family (not always near to the hearts of churchmen and prelates, it must be admitted) remains a love-based and politically potent organizing principle for many.

EFFORT AT EDUCATION REALISM

I sent an email to HRH Prince Charles to congratulate him on pointing out that not all children could expect to be geniuses; and that their education would proceed better if attention were paid to their different levels of ability and to rubbing in the need for natural talent and hard work if they were to succeed in their chosen paths.

The Prince's views were commended as "common sense" by the Telegraph's Alice Thompson (19 xi). Charles had been defending himself against Education Minister Charles Clarke who had described Prince Charles' views that people should "know their station" [as Clarke put it] as "out of touch and out of time."

{Strangely, the attack by a Government minister on the Prince for his realism came just a day after another minister had announced that mixed-sex schools -- long championed by Labourites -- had been shown in Government-backed research (some of it experimental) to be a flop, requiring a move back to the single sex schools of 40 years ago; and two days after Clarke himself had met rejection by many teachers of his intention to distribute behaviourally disturbed children more evenly around the school system, thus equalizing misery for all.}

{At the same time, the similar uselessness of modern American education -- revealed by the Thernstroms [reviewed by me at Amazon] -- was reviewed depressively in New York Review of Books (2 xii, R. Rothstein) without so much as a mention of the improving ideas of Prince Charles and The g Factor.}

{Supporting Prince Charles' view that education was becoming crazily dumbed down so as to provide a feel-good factor for the untalented, 71% of a sample of UK academics told Times Higher (19 xi) that their "institution had admitted students who were not capable of benefiting from higher level study -- and similarly substantial percentages said their universities were increasingly tolerant of student absenteeism, student plagiarism and the award of Passes to students having Fail-grade marks. Education professor Alan Smithers, a centre-right adviser to MPs on education policy, declared: "These findings are powerful evidence of something that has been very difficult to prove." He said some universities were trapped in a "vicious circle" by a funding system that forced them to accept weaker students to fill places, but imposed financial penalties if any dropped out. "It is almost inevitable that standards will drop," he continued.}

{Mr Clarke was joined by two other government ministers, one of whom opined that, in modern Britain, "endeavours and energies" alone would allow a person "to be almost anything" -- i.e. that ability was unimportant. But, not having read The g Factor, the Prince was unable to blast this twaddle and rowed back, saying he never doubted all could succeed -- at least if it was allowed, as in his own thinking, that "it is just as great an achievement to be a plumber or a bricklayer as it is to be a lawyer or a doctor."

In the Sunday Telegraph (21 xi), columnist Ross Clark cruelly reminded readers that, alas, this was the kind of leadership to expect from a Prince who had only obtained two 'A'[dvanced] Level passes, at Grades B and C, yet was allowed to scrape into Cambridge's top Trinity College where the education provided could hardly have been well matched to his own natural talents. However, it may have been that HM Queen herself had given Charles a wigging -- for public arguments between ministers and the Royal Family are not supposed to happen.

Anyway, Mr Clarke then backed off -- saying he was glad to learn he and the Prince actually agreed with each other. Addressing bishops gathered at Lambeth Palace, London, Prince Charles settled for saying, "Not everyone has the same talents or abilities, but everyone, with the right nurturing, can make a real difference to their communities and to the country" and "Ambition is a good thing and should never be constrained by a person's starting point in life and people must be encouraged to fulfil their aspirations in ways that recognize their different abilities and talents." But he threw in for good measure: "I believe passionately that everyone has a particular
God-given ability."

All this was vastly more diplomatic than what he had originally said (in a leaked private memo purloined by a stout middle-aged Black woman secretary who wanted promotion and compensation for "sexual harassment" [by a homosexual courtier!]): "What is wrong with people nowadays? Why do they all seem to think they are qualified to do things far above their capabilities? This is all to do with the learning culture in schools. It is a consequence of a child-centred education system which tells people they can become pop stars, high court judges or brilliant TV presenters or infinitely more competent heads of state without ever putting in the necessary work or having the natural ability"

Though the fourteen readers' letters in the Times (22 xi) were 50% in his favour, as were the six listeners' comments broadcast by BBC Radio 4 (20 xi), the Prince had received no support from Britain's political class so deemed it wiser to bow the knee to PeeCee.

CHARLES TURNS INTO PLUMBERS' BEST MATE', chortled the left-wing Sunday Mirror. The watchful and anti-monarchist South Australia Advertiser (23 xi) noted Charles, in his Lambeth defence, had "made a strange and tentative step to the fringes of the real world" [as defined by the SAA] while reminding its readers that Charles' original remarks envisaged strong social and genetic determinism. In Britain, the Guardian (22 xi) remarked the size of the difference between the Prince's original and later "clarificatory' remarks -- and reminded readers that Charles was never awarded a degree at Cambridge [of the 1960's, before dumbing-down began].}
