FILM TO KILL PEECEE

Backed by an American multi-millionaire (Stuart Browning), a fresh-faced 32-year-old computer whizz from New York turned out to be scheduled to produce by the end of the year a serious send-up of peecee tyranny on U.S. campuses (Daily Telegraph, 13 viii). Director Evan Coyne Maloney believed his film would horrify many rich and elderly alumni and lead to a drying up of funding for American luniversities. Maloney had seen the light when American media of 2003 ran broadcasts implying that protest against the Iraq war was normal: Maloney promptly took a camera along to demonstrations and had no difficulty finding lefties content to call President Bush a ‘Hitler without the moustache.’ Subsequently he found after dishing out dolls of Hillary Clinton and Michael Moore to crowds that, when he pretended to have run out and have only Osama bin Laden dolls remaining, the lefties “one after the other accepted the proferred action figures of the mastermind of 9/11.” Details of Maloney’s techniques and his liaison with the liberal-right Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) can be found at FIRE, 6 xii 2004. An American Christian website recorded (2005):

"Maloney is one of the newest wave of new-wave filmmakers, a former computer geek who uses the new tiny technology to put real films together right inside his cramped Manhattan apartment, and then promotes them on his own blog and websites. He describes himself as a libertarian-conservative with neo-conservative overtones, radicalized by seeing 9-11 up close and personal. "Being a New Yorker and watching the towers fall from the rooftop of my office building,” stated Maloney, “really has a way of grabbing you by the collar, slapping you in the face and waking you up about what kind of threats exist in the world." After 9-11, he became fascinated with far left protestors who appear to side with Islamic and Palestinian radicals against their own country. He began documenting how their love affair with the Palestinian cause has led them to a virulent hatred of Israel, a hatred he says is starting to spill over into a hatred of the Jews".


OZ ANTI-RACIST ACADEMICS STRONGER IN QUANTITY THAN QUALITY

Arguments demanding that academic free speech be “responsible”, sensitive and unfailingly non-racist were so feeble that the letter containing them needed scores of signatures from social scientists and hangers-on (including 46 ‘colleagues’ of Drew Fraser at Macquarie LUniversity) to give it sufficient weight for publication in the Australian (17 viii). In particular, the authors’ failure to define ‘racism’ meant that their proposals, if accepted, would banish even the most sober and scientific discussion of racial differences – since anti-racists standardly call a wide range of race scholars “(scientific) racists”(FIND racist).


HOLLYWOOD NON-PEECEE STARS IDENTIFIED

As the right and national liberals mobilized to take back the U.S. media from the left, the Hollywood Congress of Republicans listed some of its favourite stars (2005): Arnie Schwarzenegger, top beauty and actress Bo Derek, Bruce Willis, Charlton Heston, Chubby Checker, Clint Eastwood, Jack Nicklaus, voluptuous Jane Russell (of ‘Gentlemen Prefer Blondes’), top model Kathy Ireland, leggy nice-but-naughty Lara Flynn Boyle (‘Twin Peaks’), Matt Drudge, rockstar Meat Loaf, cute (half-Asian?) but incisive columnist Michelle Malkin, Oliver North, petite actress and author Patricia Heaton, Rush Limbaugh, Sylvester Stallone, and hot young busty blonde bombshell, Sorbonne-trained artist and supermodel Yvette Rachelle.


SEX DIFFERENCES IN IQ RANGE RE-ASSERTED

Differential psychologist Richard Lynn (ex-U. Ulster) and organizational psychologist Paul Irwing (ex-U. Ulster, then Manchester Business School) managed to score big-time in the media by reporting, (apparently from a worldwide literature review of cognitive tests in 57 studies [sampling unknown] and perhaps new material involving some 24,000 adult testees since 1960), that males were substantially over-represented at higher levels of IQ (some five-fold at over IQ 145) (Times, 25 viii; Sun, 25 viii; Herald, 25 viii; Daily Mail, 25 viii, p.29; BBC 25 viii (where Lynn & Irwing promptly attracted a score of responses, all critical); Glasgow Evening Times, 25 viii); The Australian (26 viii – taking the trouble to mention Lynn’s involvement in the (2002) discovery of a clear correlation between national prosperity and national IQ).

The finding, to be published in the British Journal of Psychology (the flagship journal of the British Psychological Society), due out 4 xi, was in line with Charles Murray’s (2003) estimate that only 2% of the world’s top 4,000 ‘achievers’ (till 1950) had been women. {Males also scored on average 5 IQ points higher than women but this may have reflected well-known higher male spatial abilities – since spatial tests are often used (instead of verbal or numerical tests) to achieve ‘culture-fair’ assessment of intelligence.} {Good news for women was that, matching for IQ, women actually achieved more than men -- perhaps because of conscientiousness or better memory due to lower alcohol intake.}

{The Education Guardian (25 viii} did its best to hold the line for sex equality by having Cambridge University professor Simon Boring-Cohen reject Professor Lynn’s attempt to rope him in as to a 5-IQ-point average male superiority , saying he still believed “overall intelligence is not better in one sex than in the other” – Boring-Cohen had become well-known for acknowledging attentional sex differences in breadth of intake (pointed out in Chapter 1 of The g Factor).} {Some journalists found it odd that, despite Lynn & Irwing’s result, female students today excel males at all levels of educational achievement except Ph.D. level – neglecting that today’s “educational achievement” in Britain is largely a matter of rote learning of spoon-fed material together with hyperconscientious application to time-wasting ‘projects’ undertaken with the help of parents.}

{The Guardian (Sam Jones, 26 viii) provided a handy summary of Richard Lynn’s views over the years on race, sex and class – including his brave 1996 acknowledgment (in response to my own trials in Edinburgh) that he could be called a ‘scientific racist.’ (Like William McDougall, Hans Eysenck and myself, Richard is essentially a democratic elitist.) In America, Exhibit.net (25 viii) offered a similarly wide attack on Lynn’s eugenic views. The American Outside the Beltway (26 viii) settled sensibly enough for doubting any substantial average sex difference in the g factor but agreeing that men have a wider standard deviation and thus produce more geniuses.}

OBSERVER/GUARDIAN ADMITS THE g FACTOR

In an amazing lapse from peecee principles, Health Editor Jo Revill casually announced to lefties the existence of "general intelligence," of links to maths and reading abilities, and of ""general" genes" governing "achievement at school" (Observer 7 viii or BNN[John Ray] 10 viii).

Not to be outdone, the mighty Chicago Sun-Times told its readers that higher-IQ women are less likely to marry (35% less for every 16 IQ points) whereas the opposite is true for men (40% more likely to marry for each 16 IQ points) and that “IQ is fixed” (whereas ‘Emotional Intelligence’ can be changed….) (8 viii).

Medindia.com claimed that research at London’s Maudsley Hospital had found “continual e-mailing and text-messaging” to be associated with an average IQ of only 90 (6 viii).

A Virginia jury took IQ seriously, finding that a convicted murderer whose IQ had risen from 59 to 76 should prepare himself for Death Row (Sunday Times, 7 viii; Sunday Mirror, 7 viii). Likewise a Georgia jury sent a murderer and rapist for execution when it turned out his low IQ score had been the result of his faking dumb on the advice of his lawyer (Tallahassee Democrat, 12 viii).

Readers of Parade magazine (widely distributed in the USA) guesstimated (viii) that the world’s 12 most intelligent people were: 1 Albert Einstein 2 Bill Gates 3 Marie Curie 4 Stephen Hawking 5 Condoleezza Rice 6 Bill Clinton 7 Sandra Day O'Connor 8 Oprah Winfrey 9 Warren Buffett 10 Jane Goodall 11 Steven Spielberg 12 Dalai Lama (n.b.: 57% of respondents were women).

The Government of Thailand (where IQ averages 91) became sufficiently worried about low IQ as to embark on mapping the whole country to see whether IQs of under 80 were importantly linked to areas of iodine deficiency (The Nation, 13 viii).

British Mensa (membership 25,000) kept going, announcing a search for high-IQ folk in the Chester area (Chester Evening Leader, 13 viii).

And the British Journal of Psychiatry published evidence from 7,000 Danish men that a high IQ in childhood predicted a lower rate of psychiatric disturbance in adulthood – a result which persisted when social class and birth weight were controlled for. {Such a protective effect of IQ is discussed in The g Factor, Chapter 4, which points out that schizophrenia is less severe and disruptive when IQ is higher.}

The Daily Telegraph, too, dared to give IQ a mention, venturing that Cherie Blair, if she were to become an M.P. would “raise the average IQ of the Commons significantly” (12 viii). And IQ even figured centrally in the plot of a new film, Pretty Persuasion, in which super-high-IQ and pretty teenagerettes plotted revenge on an authoritarian schoolmaster (Film Threat, 5 viii).

RACE-REALIST PROFESSOR BACKED BY STUDENTS, UNION PRESIDENT AND GOVERNMENT MINISTER

As Macquarie LUniversity's public law expert Drew Fraser (picture) prepared for a showdown with his multiculti academic bosses, he received strong support from his students - according to The Australian (1 viii). As well as not wanting their course disrupted, students (including one girl from Vietnam) said Professor Fraser was a good teacher, not a racist in any usual sense of that term, and was anyhow surely entitled to free speech.

Reeling under this blow, the LUniversity may have taken consolation from being given the backing of the New South Wales supremo of the National Tertiary Education Union; but it still had no support from the union's Macquarie branch president, Judy Goyen, who called for Professor Fraser to be able to publicize his views, and a new blow landed on it as youthful Federal Government Education Minister Dr Brendan Nelson, a Canberra Liberal, said it was wrong to ban the professor from teaching (Sydney Morning Herald, 1 viii).

Professor Fraser's trials with his LUniversity had begun when he wrote using his university address to a suburban newspaper saying that Australia was at risk of becoming `a Third World colony' thanks to its politicians encouraging non-Anglo-Celtic immigration. {Professor Fraser turned up on campus as promised to meet his 60 students and to encourage them to demand the continuation of his lecture course - though the lecture hall they normally used had been locked against them and secured by guards sent by peroxide-blonde and wrinkled Vice-Chancellor `Lady Di' Yerbury. Fraser's student, Andrew Tennant, said:

"We were just basically trying to hand out some pamphlets saying that free speech is an important issue at Macquarie University and that any lecturer, no matter how far out or extravagant his view should be, he should be allowed to speak and that a university historically is a place for a marketplace of ideas and that they should be allowed to speak and the university should really not get involved in that kind of debate?"

As this happened, DF's case - already mentioned in American Renaissance (29 vii) -- was achieving further publicity in America from VDare (http://vdare.com/sailer/050731_fraser.htm1 viii) - in an article by Steve Sailer which (while omitting any mention of Arthur Jensen, Richard Lynn or Phil Rushton) included a brave discussion of Africa's "endemic cretinism." But the press in the Workers' Paradise was not so sympathetic: Professor Fraser was headlined not as being locked out but as "skipping his lectures" by the Australian, the Melbourne Herald Sun, the Daily Telegraph (Australia), the Brisbane Courier Mail, the Advertiser Adelaide and News.com.au.}


UNION AND STUDENTS BACK FREE SPEECH FOR RACE-REALIST

In a surprise move, Australia's 26,000-strong Melbourne-based National Tertiary Education Union announced its belief that academics should be able to speak freely in public and its determination to ensure that Professor Andrew Fraser should be treated fairly according to the terms of his contract and standard university procedures (2 viii) - the implication being that the union thought Macquarie's teaching ban an over-reaction to an essentially minor incident (in which Prof. Fraser had sent his race-realist views to a suburban newspaper from his university address). The union added: "Universities have a responsibility to promote critical discussion and debate." Meanwhile, Macquarie's exiled public law lecturer was enjoying a groundswell of support from former students and from 2005 students. Colourful banners declaring "Support Free Speech! Let Drew Teach!" appeared around the north-western Sydney campus (Daily Telegraph [Oz], 3 viii). Macquarie, which calls itself `Australia's Innovative University,' is a strongly postgraduate university, with 34% of its 30,000 students being enrolled for second degrees. {The similarity of Professor Fraser's battle with my own in Edinburgh of 1996/7 was noted at the Australian race-realist websites, `Sydney Bluegum', `G-Gnome Rides Out' and `Majority Rights'.}


TOP POLITICOS EDGE AWAY FROM MULTICULTURALISM

In the aftermath of the London Tube bombings (killing 56), Tory leadership aspirant David Davis told the Telegraph (3 viii) that multiculturalism was finished, that Britain needed to reclaim its borders and have a Department of Homland Security, that Britain should stop dishing out `human rights' to all and sundry, that foreign men with prison records in Britain should not qualify for British citizenship and that he favoured allowing preaching and teaching in mosques and Muslim faith schools only under licence, allowing the police to use racial profiling when stopping and searching suspects, and allowing phone tap evidence in court in terror hearings. {Davis covered his backside by pointing out that Campaign for Racial Equality boss Trevor Phillips had announced `multiculturalism was dead' sixteen months ago (Times, 3 iv 2004; Diary, iv 2004); his advocacy of racial profiling was backed by a top ethnic man at the Met; his fellow Shadow Cabinet member, Gerald Howarth, called for Muslims who justify terror bombings to leave Britain; senior Tory Michael Portillo had written for the Times that the era of multiculturalism was over (17 vii), to be replaced with magnanimous monoculturalism; and Davis would have been pleased to find Foreign Secretary Jack Straw agreeing with him about Islam needing to be provided only under license. However, at the same time the UK Home Office (under one Hazel Blears while Messrs Clarke, Blair and Straw were on holiday) said the police should act only on the basis of intelligence and declined to specify it would be `intelligent' to concentrate bomb searches on Afro-Arab males rather than on White grannies; and Mrs Cherie Blair told the Guardian that judges should dish out more human rights a.s.a.p.} {After ten years of European and American effort to create multicultural societies in Bosnia and Kosovo, the New York Review of Books (Tim Judah, viii) noted that it would take "just a spark" to return these places to civil war.}



BRITAIN CAN'T STOP PASSPORT SMUGGLER

The lunatic state of Britain's preparedness to deal with terror and illegal immigration was revealed when British officials announced they were unable to detain a `British citizen' [newly minted] found with 452 blank European passports in his luggage (Sydney Morning Herald, 5 viii).

Postmodern relativism, stemming from a failure to respect human intelligence as a reality-detector, may at last be on the wane in the universities it made its own - those of America's Demmocrat-dominated state sector (Wall Street Journal, 4 viii). {The death of `Theory' [aka Critical Theory = all capitalistic and scientific ideas have detectable problems, therefore Lenin was right] was announced last year in Britain by a leading Marxite previous advocate, Prof. Terry Eagleton (see Diary, May 2004).}


MUSLIM MODERATION? - `DON'T BELIEVE IT!' SAYS "Guardian"

Continuing its balancing act to try to hold together the New and Livingstonian sides of the Labour Party, the Grauniad (4 viii) published a think-piece from a Muslim, one Hanif Kureishi. Could Rev. Blair achieve his wish to deal with the merry moderate Muslim majority of his imagination? `No way, Jose!' said Hanif. He had been to plenty of `moderate' mosques where abuse of the West, the Jews and, above all, homosexuals was very marked - and when he tried to record it he was dumped out on the stree by burly Islamic scholars. More generally, wrote Hanif, Islam opposes the use of reason, argument or evidence except in the service of faith. Needless to say, Hanif found British Mohammedanism "claustrophobic" and "stultifying" - in short, quite unsuitable for Guardian readers.


BLECKS SEEK REVENGE ON RACE-REALIST

Seething at Blacks being called low-IQ, Australia's `African Communities Council' announced it would seek redress against Macquarie LUniversity's Professor Andrew Fraser from the Human Rights and Equal Opportunities Commission. At a packed meeting at Macquarie, Professor Fraser told a howling mob they would rue the day. {An article in the Sydney Morning Herald (6 viii) noted that, back in 1977, Professor Hans Eysenck had been shielded by guards at Macquarie so that he could speak - which he had been unable to do at Sydney University. But a SMH columnist suggested Professor Fraser was either "pig ignorant" or "plain barking mad."}


TOP LEFT COLUMNIST DENOUNCES MODERN ISLAM

Observer readers all over Britain could be heard choking over their muesli as long-standing lefty columnist Nick Cohen got off the fence and condemned today's Islam as "homophobic, mysogynist, racist, imperialist, tyrannical, homicidal." - Yes, Islam has some good features..but it's nice to know that the White traitors who invented PeeCee are no longer able to agree what these are. On the other hand, as lefties bickered over whether mad mullahs should be indicted as traitors, one of them, `the Tottenham ayatollah' managed to slip away to Lebanon. {Prime Minister Winston Churchill had set a precedent for locking up sworn enemies in times of war when, in 1940, he detained 1,000 leading Mosleyites - though not least for their own safety.}

After twenty academics at Macquarie LUniversity had written to their Vice-Chancellor complaining of the treatment meted out to Professor Andrew Fraser when he wrote to a newspaper saying Black people had on average a low IQ and high testosterone, one of them, law lecturer Lawrence McNamara, spoke out to defend Fraser at a 300-strong meeting of Macquarie staff (The Australian, 10 viii).


STREAMING REALISM VINDICATED

A Glasgow school announced that its results were 19% better after four years of streaming pupils according to ability. St Paul's High School, Pollok, one of Glasgow's 29 state-run secondary schools, had adopted streaming in English and Maths in 1999, then extended the principle to all classes in 2001. By 2005 they had their result: a 25% boost in the exam results of better students, a 19% boost on average, and a 4% boost for duller kids (all of which boosts compared with a 1.5% `inflation' driven rise for Scotland as a whole (Daily Mail [print version], 9 viii). The Times weighed in to the battle, saying LSE research showed comprehensive schools produced less social mobility, that Northern Irish people were well content with their `divided' grammar vs comprehensive system, and that 80% of 11 year olds finally stuck to their own predictions of whether they would or would not stay on at school for higher education - so why couldn't the authorities use such statements of intent to route children either into academic or business-related studies?

BRITAIN BUGGERS ON

As Islamist bombs killed 56 in London, triggering an orgy of political correctness by the police, British politicians set an example to the nation by going on holiday. – As well they might, for Labour (see Guardian contributors, e.g. Jonathan Freedland vs others) was split down the middle over whether to back the Jews or the Muslims and whether to grant the whole world ‘human rights’ to stay in Britain on welfare while would-be immigrants’ cases are considered and appealed for years on end without their in any event being removed. (Mr and Mrs Blair were particularly at loggerheads, the former spiritedly saying he wouldn’t give Muslims an inch, the latter saying British judges should take over from politicians and issue even more rights on the basis of their powers from Brussels – see Guardian, 28 vii, where she won the blessing of the editor).

The Tories, too, largely holidayed, with none of their 197 candidates for their leadership feeling able to say anything much about anything; though in the Spectator the Tories’ own rift was clear to see, with brave-and-boyish Boris Johnson saying that Islamofascism could be dealt with by British bobbies, but hard-man Mark Steyn saying the West needed a full scale wake-up war on terror since the Islamists had in recent years taken over Pakistan, Iran, Chechnya, Bosnia and Sudan and were busily establishing themselves in Kashmir, Thailand (where 10% of people have in recent years moved home to get away from Muslims) and Nigeria (now 50% under Sharia law).

Meanwhile what remained in the UK of the Government took five days to establish whether a Brazilian killed with seven bullets to the head in London by plain clothes police had or had not been in the country legally – eventually it turned out the Home Office stamp in his passport giving ‘right of indefinite stay’ was a forgery; and the Government Minister for Northern Ireland, ex-anti-apartheid activist Peter Hain, completed the U.K.’s 50-year struggle against the IRA with a complete and final sell-out, releasing top Eirish psychopaths and beginning to withdraw the Army from the now fully divided province, allowed to develop its own apartheid system of Caff and Prod regions – presumably a harbinger of what Britoid politicians will provide on the mainland in response to Islamist terror.

For British intellectuals, Prof. John Gray of the LSE, was wheeled into the New York Review of Books (11 viii) to say that nationalism may or may not be the coming response to globalization and Pax Americana – thereby agreeing with what I wrote in American Renaissance in March, but failing to say which versions of nationalism might catch on or how the West’s current peecee religiosity might be replaced.

After a few days’ consideration of Macquarie University’s offer of (effectively) a dishonourable discharge, Professor Fraser – by then suspended from teaching duties by fat and faded frump Vice-Chancellor ‘Di’ Yerbury (Sydney Morning Herald, 29 vii) --, announced (29 vii) his decision to remain in post – thus forcing the University into an expensive and risky trial if they were indeed determined to be rid of him. In a surprise move, the University then went back on its sacking threat, saying it would stand by academic free speech (29 vii) – thus leaving Professor Fraser in the same position as I was by the end of July, 1996, after three months battling with ‘antiracists’: at Edinburgh University: on full pay and without the burden of teaching but with a by-then partially co-operative Edinburgh LUniversity facing the wrath of irate lefties from all over the country (to which it finally gave in and decided on a top-secret trial and sacking of me in 1997). {Since Professor Fraser apparently has public supporters, the battle in Sydney can be expected to be much livelier, presumably resulting in a more rapid capitulation by Macquarie.}

ACADEMIC FIGHTS FOR RACE REALISM AND FREE SPEECH

At Australia's Macquarie University, law professor Andrew Fraser fell out with his bosses and faced the sack for talking of `Australia's African problem' resulting from Black immigrants having too little intelligence and too much testosterone, and of its `Asian problem' that Asians would soon be providing Australia's ‚lite. Defiant Professor Fraser had written for Occidental Quarterly and given unofficicial advice to Australia's Patriotic Youth League. 85% of 3,500 phone-in callers to the Australian radio programme, `A Current Affair,' said they agreed with Professor Fraser. The LUniversity said it wanted Professor Fraser to bring forward his retirement (due in 2006) so as not to prejudice the LUniversity's "business interests" in collecting na‹ve idealistic `anti-racist' students from as many countries as possible. Professor Robert Manne, from Victoria's LaTrobe University, said he was very disappointed to hear that Macquarie University had decided not to stand by Mr Fraser. "I think in general universities should be committed to free speech and it's an extremely serious matter to drive someone out of the university, effectively if that's what's happening," Professor Manne said. Other Macquarie academics also defended Professor Fraser, the branch secretary of Australia's National Tertiary Education Union asserting his right to free speech.

The White Pride Coalition group in the Queensland town of Toowoomba, home to 750 Sudanese refugees, seemed determined to support Professor Fraser. Asked whether he would like to recant on his comments (which included complaining of a coming Chinese elite in Australia), Professor Fraser replied "Absolutely not!" His right to free speech was further defended by Deakin University's James McConvill (27 vii) - though with a health warning added that his views did not `represent' those of Deakin.


SOCIAL WORKER TRAITORS

As a final boot in the rear for Britain's ludicrous `welfare' system, the Sun newspaper discovered (26 vii) that two of London's Black Islamofascist bombers had been living for years at the expense of the British taxpayer - in my home suburb of Southgate, North London, once renowned for its middle-class tranquillity but coming to national prominence in 1997 as Kurds and Iraqis chased each other through the streets till one of them dropped dead in a pool of his own blood outside Southgate's police station, just 30 seconds walk away from Southgate's famous art-deco Tube station.


GOVERNMENT ADMITS NEED FOR STREAMING IN SCHOOLS

The UK Government's new Education Secretary, Ruth Kelly (from the Queen's College, Oxford), made the amazing admission that years of billion-pound expenditures to improve the educational performance of weaker pupils had been a complete failure. "We have not managed to narrow the gap between the attainment of children from lower- and higher-income families," she said, remarking that this was "the kind of thing you can only really say shortly after an election." Her plan for the future was to separate children of different levels for tuition in different classes - as proposed in Chapter 4 of The g Factor, 1996.. In another remarkable climbdown, Kelly announced she would let school class sizes rise to 60 - despite Labour's election pledges to reduce them to a maximum of 25.

{Meantime, from elsewhere in Britain's addle-headed school system came a plea that, when marking schoolwork, the term FAIL should be replaced by DEFERRED SUCCESS - suggested by a fat frump belonging to the `Professional Association of Teachers.'}


OZ LEFTIES GIVEN THE `PROOF' THEY NEED

Like this Diary (January, 2005), the Sun newspaper began calling for Britain to opt out of the European Convention on Human Rights - so as to be able to deport Muslim ravers living here on benefits and blaming Britain for the London 7/7 bombs that killed 56 (20 vii). The newspaper also joined the Board of Deputies of British Jews (now coming round to oppose multiculturalism after a generation of promoting it) and Tory Anne Widdecombe and others in calling for the resignation of London's loopy-lefty Mayor, Ken Livingslime, who had denied that terror had any connection with Islam (or even with any `ideology' or `perversion of Islam'). A young Muslim M.P. joined in, blaming extremism on the `negligent' elderly Muslies who had allowed some 2000 British mosques to become infected with fanaticism spread by foreign mullahs (Sun, 20 vii).


SPECCIE BACKS LIBERALISM

Unlike the brain-dead Conservative Party, always inclined to agree with Government's latest illiberal proposals to restrict free speech, the Speccie robustly asserted the need to let Muslim fanatics condemn themselves out of their own mouths (and thus lead Britain's bumbling peecee Bobbies - unable to tell a Brasilian from an Arab thanks to a decade of training in ignoracism -- to the mullahs' supporters) (22 vii).

The first serious Mandarinated glimpse of the truth from a British source came [after some sixteen hours of police responding to a call from a bomber' s mother registering him as a 'missing person' and leading police to scour CCTV pronto (the high-expense space-suited DNA searches were useless) leading to identification of the bombers] when ITV's 22:30 news announced that some of the bombers had spent months 'training' in Afghanistan and Pakistan (their absences from Leeds and Luton provoking not the slightest curiosity in their Muslim friends); and when Britoid Muslims told ITV interviewers that the bombers were their own worst nightmare come true' - presumably because the Muslims, if not the media, believed the bombers to be Islamonuts. {Some 26 hours after the police swept into Leeds, BBC Radio 4 UK deigned to concede (13 vii, 08:30) that all four (highly) suspected bombers were "of Pakistani descent" - this was ten hours after I wrote to the Beeb to reprove their laughable political correctness in talking of 'British youths from Yorkshire'.}

{Terrified Islamic moderates began to appear in the media, saying they had been in hiding for years because of threats from extremists - all such threats having passed unnoticed by U.K. authorities.

Meanwhile London prepared to welcome Islamofascist preacherman Prof. Tariq Ramadan - banned from France and the USA but welcomed to excuse Islamoterror in Britain by ludicrous Blairite multiculturalists such as pompous semi-shaven jug-eared authoritarian bastard Charles Clarke, Home Secretary, and the Association of Chief Police Officers which was putting up œ9K for the gig. The CIA declared London to be "easily the most jihadist hub in western Europe" (Daily Mail, 13 vii). The Mail said that "great accommodations" were required from both sides of the Muslim-White divide; the Times said "The Muslim majority must recognize a responsibility to end the cult of nihilistic extremism"; and the Grauniad welcomed planned big-city marches by Muslims intended to demonstrate their bona fides - while letting its young Muslim columnist, Dilpazier Aslam, write that "[the agitation of Muslims] builds till it can be contained no more."

The work of the anti-Islamofascism Italian journalista Oriana Fallaci, 75 and herself not Christian, was acknowledged with appreciation in Human Events, 8 vii - she was facing legal action for 'vilifying Islam' (though fortunately was safely in hiding in New York) (Grauniad, 13 vii).} {Whereas London's mayor Ken Livingstone had insisted the bombers could not be said to have acted 'ideologically' or even out of a 'perversion of Islam', Rev. Blair and Chazza respectively backed these two explanations while calling on moderate Islamofascists to demonstrate their moderation. The Guardian and Sun both recorded Mr Blair in apparently tough-minded form about extreme Mohammedanism, saying "We must pull up this evil ideology by its roots. Young people get indoctrinated into what is an extreme and poisonous version and perversion of the religion"; and the Guardian had its MP columnist Jackie Ashley, doyenne of Islington's chattering classes, defending Britain as a home not specially of stoicism, courage or even good humour but of "lively democracy and free speech" and writing that "Saying that the bombings have nothing at all to do with Islam is fatuous" ('Speak up, Speak out!' 14 vii) - though the newspaper felt obliged to balance this with a column saluting Prof. Ramadan.

Mick Hume in the Times agreed with Jackie Ashley on the need for robust free speech, while equally declining to even hint what this might involve - perhaps the identification of the problems of low-IQ youths (whether Muslim, Catholic or Proddie) that was once presented fully to the public in The g Factor, 1996.}

GENES FOR IQ FOUND

Queensland psychogeneticist Professor Nick Martin claimed to have found genes on chromosomes 2 and 6 which differ between twins (and between siblings) in so far as the twins (and siblings) differ in IQ. 1,000 Australian and Dutch adolescents served as subjects in the study which pinpointed specific areas of DNA in which the genetic differences occurred. The researchers linked chromosome 2 to Performance IQ, overlapping a region associated with autism. The region on Chromosome 6 was linked to full-scale and verbal IQ and had a small overlap with an area implicated in reading disability and dyslexia.



PROFESSOR FOR ENOCH; P.M. FOR 'ASSIMILATION'; MUSLIM vs ISLAM

Linguistics professor Geoffrey Sampson (in trouble in 2002 for 'racism') published a fine letter defending Enoch Powell's concerns about immigration (Daily Telegraph, 15 iv).

A MODEST PROPOSAL

In all the discussion of the London bombings, I don't find any positive proposals that anyone dares to put forward. So here's a try:

I suggest a campaign to encourage Londoners to sit at the front of tubes, trains and buses if White; and at the back if Black, Arab, Pakistani etc. Everyone will feel safer with this mini-apartheid -- for surely martyr-terrorists won't want to blow up carriage loads of their own kin, so even the Muslims will feel safer. You could call the campaign 'Safe [Separate] Seating -- Beat the Bombers.' It could easily start by word of mouth, and once it begins it would catch on quickly since everyone would see the rationale (and Blacks et al. would just find all the front seats taken so would easily adjust by heading towards the roomier conditions at the rear).

BRITISH PRESS SELF-DESTRUCTS - LIKE MUCH ELSE

After a lunatic week of failing to diagnose Africa's poverty- corruption- and AIDS-generating problem (low IQ), the British press declined to say what could be done about the Islamosfascist 7 vii bombing (killing some 70) of peecee-crazy Londonistan - which mad Muslims had made their home for the previous twenty years despite protests to Westminster from Arab governments. Even the idea of blowing up one mosque or Muslim business per Westerner killed 'in the name of Islam' did not occur to Britain's wretched 'tabloid' newspapers, supposedly so devoted to the national interest of flushing out hostile psychotics, ignorant incompetents and overfed crazies who humiliate Westerners before sawing their heads off all the while sporting British passports (yes, stand up Omar Sheikh, the Pakistan-based but LSE-educated beheader of American Jewish journalist Daniel Pearl). Accompanying the paparazzi in peecee piety were the police who, instead of telling the Muslim community to deliver information pronto, devoted vast technological resources of men in space suits to analyzing shards of Tube train glass for DNA and sent thousands of officers off to trace 'email threats' made against Britain's Islamonuts.

At the same time, the 'G8' 'world leaders', meeting for golf and nosh at Gleneagles Hotel, agreed to give $3bn to the murderous Arab fanatics of Palestine. In fairness, the Daily Telegraph's Charles Moore ('Where is the Gandhi of Islam?' 9 vii) did question the denial by pinko Mayor of London Ken Livingstone that 'terrorism' was in any way connected with Islam (or even with a 'perversion of Islam') and the feebleness of 'moderate' Muslim clerics who freely associate with grossly anti-Semitic colleagues, refuse the police the use of sniffer dogs and access to the 'holier' areas of mosques, decline to issue fatwas against any Muslim or Muslim movement at all (including jihadist 'charities'), and decline to encourage young Muslims to join the British police and army to fight extremism in the four years since 9/11.

But it looked as if it would be light years before British papers would turn to consider how Israel copes with Palestinians and how Britain once coped with its own rebellion-prone Scottish Highlanders of the eighteenth century. By contrast, the Italians did not mess around - they arrested 142 terror suspects (surely Muslims) in the 48 hours after 7/7. {That terrorism can be defeated is shown by the story of the tyrannical and martyrdom-prone Zealots, forever trying to whip up their fellow Jews against Rome but finally defeated in A.D. 70 - beginning the Jewish Diaspora which itself currently looks such a long-term success IQ-wise for the Jews who survived European pogroms and the Holocaust and got out to America or back to Israel.} {In a surprise move on 10 vii, the normally NuLabour-backing Observer let its star columnist, Nick Cohen, condemn Islamofascism and the Western liberal-lefties who felt obliged to act as its apologists.}

From Rags To Riches To Repeated Offending


Why should Sir Bob Geldof's 150,000 demonstrators, now heading for highjinks in Edinburgh on Saturday, July 2, want to 'make poverty history' when even their beloved Guardian newspaper today (amazingly) admits the limits of riches, as follows (29 June):

"Sandwiched on the court list between a "driving whilst disqualified" and a "drunk in charge of a vehicle", Michael Andrew Carroll needed no introduction when he arrived in the dock. A regular before King's Lynn magistrates [in Norfolk, East Anglia] for offences such as disorderly behaviour and taking vehicles, Carroll is infamous in the tabloid press as the King of Chavs [cheap-jewelry-sporting low life] after winning £9.7m on the National Lottery. As he became the richest man to be given an Anti-Social Behaviour Order yesterday, the 22-year-old was proof that money does not change anything."

The print version of the top-Left newspaper goes on to summarize six other cases of 'Losers' - multi-millionaires from gambling who had been unable to abandon their thieving, boozing and petty-violent habits of a lifetime. One even ended up murdering his wife because he had not wanted to tell her of his windfall so an argument broke out when she discovered his deceit - he was sent to prison for life.

Such dramatic admissions by the Guardian suggest it may have taken on board research available by the mid-1980s to the effect that, on its own, poverty in adulthood does not account for crime - as many concluded by around 1990, by when Florida State University's Glayde Whitney showed that the impoverishment of San Francisco's Chinatown of the 1960s had actually been associated with an astonishingly *low* crime rate. An specially persuasive article was that in the American Journal of Sociology in 1980 (by T. Hirschi and M. Gottfredson) which found differences in criminality beween the employed and the jobless to be "often small or non-existent." In Britain, top criminologist Jock Young (known for his left-wing views) was pointing out by 1989 that, between 1951 and 1971, real disposable income per person had increased by 64% but, far from falling, the crime rate had increased by 172%. No wonder Tony Blair MP soon came round and announced that crime could *not* be blamed on deprivation of a material sort -- thus making his 'New Labour' party electable as 'tough on crime and tough on the causes of crime.'

Today's Guardian even gives house-room to a hint as to what may be the really big cause of crime. In a column attempting to blame the middle classes for 'racism' to asylum seekers, Miranda Lewis admits that her research for the Institute for Public Policy Research found Chinese and White South Africans to be experienced as "reasonably desirable neighbours" while Black Africans and Iraqis triggered middle-class anxiety (as they also trigger it in America's Black Rev. Jesse Jackson, who once famously admitted to relief on finding the feet following him on a Washington street one night belonged to a White man). It can be no accident that the first two groups are notoriously of good intelligence and reliability, whereas sub-Saharan Black African IQ is around a disastrous 75 and even the IQ in Iraq is only around 87 (R. Lynn & T. Vanhanen, 2002, IQ and the Wealth of Nations). Notoriously, British and American prisoners, whether Black or White, have an average IQ of 85. That Black problems of criminality and lack of economic progress do not originate largely in poverty and disease or even in Africa's omnipresent corruption is also mooted in today's Guardian by the Ghanaian novelist and journalist Cameron Duodu. Since Duodu is Black, he is allowed to write in the normally more pious Guardian that Africa's governments have been "short-sighted and self-centred to a degree that borders on stupidity."

So poverty is not, it appears, the history of the ills of either Whites or Blacks. How nice to see the Guardian coming round 15 years after psychologists had seen the light -- even if most repressed the news rather than lose their jobs for publicizing it! Perhaps by 2020 the Guardian will catch up with the latest American research (see Chicago economics professor Steven D. Levitt's Freakanomics) attributing much of America's drop in crime in the 1990s to the uptake of abortion by Blacks in the late-1970s after Roe & Wade -- and thus attributing crime partly to genetic factors....

CONSERVATIVE BREAK-UP PREDICTED

A fine article in the Spectator by Daily Mail columnist Peter Hitchens reckoned the Tories were done for, having failed to fight the culture wars against "Frankfurt School Marxism" -- and, he might have generously added, having its clothes re the economy, Europe, NATO and crime stolen by New Labour. I threw in my two pennorth for the Speccie as follows.

Peter Hitchens' diagnosis is correct (Spectator, 18 vi 2005): Britain needs a moderate nationalist party. Now, this would likely produce the same kind of Labour-Liberal-Nationalist split as is found in Scotland, where forty years of the Scottish National Party's efforts have produced little power. It will thus be important for those choosing to form an English National Party and aim for a bright, White future to keep links open to the Liberals -- stressing, as did Pim Fortuyn in Holland, the centrality of liberty to the anti-socialist effort. As Conservatism breaks up -- its policies on economics, defence and crime stolen by New Labour -- budding nationalists should recall what will be for most of them their admiration for Liberals of the past like Lord Palmerston and David Lloyd George. And they will need to be ready to be liberal about drugs, the age of consent and a statute of limitations to prevent millions of our teenagers beginning adult life under fear of prosecution or blackmail.

ANGLO-SAXON APTITUDES

The British National Party was understandably glad to welcome Oxford research showing that 80% of the DNA of British Whites can be traced back to incoming Anglo-Saxons of 14,000 years ago, following big game migrating westwards from the Continent to warmer conditions as the Ice Age receded (16 vi). Evidently the Anglo-Saxons swept all before them, showing that Britain is no 'mongrel nation' and also showing that giving immigrants an inch will soon see them taking a mile. {Hopefully such excellent testimony to the power of the gene helped make up to the BNP for its leader, Nick Griffin, being sent to Leeds Crown Court in July for trial on race hate allegations (BBC, 16 vi).}

Levitt produced Freakanomics, showing among other 'weird' findings for modern Yankees that (1) parents don't have much environmental influence on their children; (2) that kids with stereotypically 'Black' names, like DeShawn, are given them by parents who are singularly immersed in Black 'culture' and thus pass down bad genes as well as bad names; (3) that crime declined in America of c. 1990 because of the legalization of abortion that had occurred after Roe vs Wade. {Steve Sailer had provided fun commentary on Levitt's excellent efforts to steer America to mention genes in connection with race and behaviour (24 iv).}

{In Britain, TV Channel 4 was gearing up to provide its viewers with evidence that African AIDS might have something to do with Black males fancying screwing any female within view after a couple of pints.}


NEO-ANTI-RACISM APPEALS TO PEECEE NULABOUR

As Parliament began debating Government proposals to legislate against 'incitement to religious hatred', ministers swore that their Bill would not interfere with jokes about, or criticism of, or even ridicule of religion. But, as Lord Anthony Lester QC wrote in the Guardian, as the proposed legislation was framed, "It is unclear why such activities will not be unlawful." An interesting candidate for a first prosecution under the intended Act was French Muslim female Nedjina Driss, author of an impressive erotic novel, The Almond, set against a Muslim background (and including women who had managed to retain their nubbly clitorises to polyorgasmic effect). Ms Driss told the Guardian (21 vi): "The Arab world is a sick old man, consumed by gangrene, illiteracy, poverty, dictatorship and fundamentalism." Was that just a little fair-minded criticism or an 'incitement to hatred,' and how could one tell? The only serious question seemed to be whether the Government would choose to prosecute for racism or the new unintentional crime of religionism.

{The renewed move to placate Muslims -- who, unlike Jews, are not protected by Britain's illiberal race hate legislation -- came after Labour lost a London parliamentary seat at the General Election to 'Gorgeous' George Galloway who had persisted in talking peace to Iraq's Madman Insane.}



CHURCH SCHISM IMMINENT

As Black Anglicans continued to make clear their antipathy to actively and openly sodomitic American priests, Archbishop Rowan Williams declared the state of the Church of England to be "catastrophic" (Guardian, 22 vi).

As the spotlight fell on Mississippi for locking up an 80-year old Klansmen for murders of 40 years ago, it transpired that America's most segregated areas were not in the
South, with its Ku Kux Klan, but in Milwaukee, Detroit, Cleveland, St Louis and Newark where people had long ago voted with their feet in the absence of any serious social controls on Black criminality. No wonder the guy who was Mayor of Philadelphia in the 1990's told the Mississippi jury that "the Klan did a good job up here"....

Twenty-two Pakistani boys of ages 3 to 15 were rescued by the Pakistani ambassador and his staff from cages in which they had been starved in the United Arab Emirates so as to keep them light enough to be successful camel jockeys. Altogether 300 such boy slaves were rumoured to be held in UAE



SWEET DANES ADMIT PEECEE IS A FLOP

According to Danish justice minister Lene Espersen, immigrant gangs have taken over organized crime in Denmark. The intruders, who come mostly from the Middle East and the Balkans, have displaced the homegrown biker gangs that once controlled the Danish traffic in illegal drugs, and have also taken charge of human trafficking from Eastern Europe and the Third World to the small Nordic country." -- Occidental Quarterly (14 vi), which added that Danish police admitted immigrant crime was proportionally three times as high as that among White youths of similar age and sex.



HOME TRUTHS TOLD ABOUT YAGS

Some Spanish Senators and Spain's anti-gay-marriage Popular Party, which had called psychiatry professor Aquilino Polaino (Madrid's Catholic University) to testify, tactfully expressed shock at being told that homosexuality was a "pathology" attributable to "a hostile, distant, alcoholic or violent father.... Or an overprotective, cold and demanding mother" -- but not enough shock to prevent the Senate finally voting against yag marriage 131-119, thus freeing Spain's priests to refuse to officiate at such marriages (Independent, 23 vi).

Belgium, Holland, Massachusetts and most states of Canada had legalized sodomitic marriage -- laying themselves open to future legal action for destruction of personal identity by any adoptees of gay marriages who turn out to be yags themselves. {Sadly, Prof. Polaino somewhat blotted his copy book by claiming homosexuality could be "corrected by therapy." 75 years of behaviourism and its renamed version cognitivism have not seen a single human sexual perversion rendered treatable.}

Economist NODS TO IQ

Surprisingly for a magazine that declined to review IQ and the Wealth of Nations, the Economist (2 vi) carried the theory of U.S. scientists Gregory Cochran and Henry Harpending (which could not be published in American academia) that higher Jewish IQ is conveyed by genes making for nervous system branching: supposedly, as with sickle-cell anaemia and malaria, having a single version of the relevant gene is helpful though getting both versions is pretty calamitous -- single doses of the genes make for higher IQ, but double doses produce too much branching and yield the distinctive Jewish genetic problems of Tay-Sachs, Gaucher's and Niemann-Pick diseases. {Perhaps the Economist just couldn't resist when told there is a high correlation between IQ and success in banking.... }

{The story also made it into the New York Times (3 vi) which gave sympathetic consideration to Ashkenazi-Jewish intelligence having risen in Europe from 800A.D. (because Jews were banned from many occupations and land-owning but found a living practising usury and tax collection) and carried a mixture of comments from top Ashkenazi scientists including Stephen Pinker.}

{Biodiversity supremo Steve Sailer discussed the West's neglect of genetics and genetic engineering in VDare, 1 v.} {And the news carried to Denver's alert Rocky Mountain News, 11 vi. Canada's Globe & Mail [cf. New York Times] carried a substantial and sympathetic review of this and other genetic x racial work by Medical Correspondent Carolyn Abraham, beginning on its front-page (18 vi) -- though with apparently obligatory opening and closing swipes at "infamous" and "internationally condemned" Phil Rushton; a re-draft of this story appeared in the Jerusalem Post, 19 vi; and the finding got a mention at RunnersWeb.com along with the observation that almost all the world's 500 top 100-meter sprinters were of West African descent (19 vi) Wry welcoming comment on Abraham's piece was provided by Steve Sailer (19 vi).} {Cleveland, Ohio's Jewish News established that Gaucher's victims in a Jerusalem hospital were highly over-represented in high-IQ professions (19 vi).}

{Another religious group that may have forged ahead from its isolation (and worse -- see American example) and resort to usury is that of the Quakers. They are certainly at the top of American IQ tables (SAT scores) -- McDougall NewsLetter, 23 iii 99); and they are substantially over-represented in America's East Coast New York Times-reading Establishment, being ahead of Presbyterians and streets ahead of Muslims and Mormons -- Gene Expression, 6 xii 04. (Though legalized in Cromwell's England, usury was still subject to legal restraints in England of 1800, where relaxation of restrictions was urged by Jeremy Bentham; it was forbidden in the original U.S Constitution; and it was vigorously condemned by the Pope as late as 1891. Today, Islam still forbids usury; nor is usury popular with 'white nationalists,' or ecologists.)}



LEFTIST DOUBTS NEW HANDOUTS FOR AFRICA

It was not just the new World Bank boss, the neoconservative Paul Wolfowitz who suspected that Western cash for Africa tended to end up fuelling corruption. The latest bout of proposals of utopian generosity to the Dark Continent by the U.K. leaders Tony Blair and Gordon Brown as they prepared to host the G8 meeting in Gleneagles, Scotland met with some reservation even in the Guardian (3 vi) which had headlines saying 'Fraud verdict implicates Mbeki's deputy' and 'Continent in thrall of corruption' and a leading article referring to Africa's "corrupt leaders and officials." {Wow, at this rate it may only be a decade before the Grauniad mentions Black Africa's little problem of its IQ being only around 70! .... }

{South Africa's Thabo Mbeki was going to be none too pleased with this kind of leftist attack, busy as he was accusing the saintly Mr Brown of criticizing Africans for 'sexual depravity' -- when all Mr Brown had done was to say Britain couldn't go on endlessly apologizing for the Empire (even if that was the Spectator's own sorry inclination (4 vi)).}

{The Guardian seemed to have caught the mood of the British public, 79% of whom told YouGov pollsters that Africa's troubles were due to "corrupt and incompetent governments"; and 80% said Africa was not doing enough to solve its problems (Daily Telegraph, 4 vi). 53% additionally blamed HIV/AIDS -- of which Swaziland provided a spectacular example, with 42.6% of its adult population infected (while its King Mswati III continued to build himself an airport able to receive jumbo jets -- doubtless to help receive the œ907,000 in aid given annually by Britain).} {Even Blacks themselves seemed to be taking a dim view of sending money to Africa: after self-publicist ... ooops ... altruist Bob Geldof approached British Black music groups to take part in his latest orgy of generosity to Africa, 'Live 8', he claimed to have been that told almost all Black groups were 'too busy.'}

{In fact, 'incompetence' is the key to African economic backwardness and lack of international fame in rock music, rather than 'corruption' -- for there is no worldwide negative correlation between corruption and growth, as witness economic progress in legendarily corrupt India (Elliott Green, letter to Daily Telegraph, 4 vi). Ten years after White rule ended, South Africa was "engulfed" in riots matching any that happened under apartheid (Sunday Telegraph, 5 vi).} {The Guardian followed up its reservations with a fine piece by its columnist Martin Kettle, 'The naive lead the naive in a campaign of liberal guilt,' 7 vi. Kettle wrote:

"For every 1,000 pounds of African debt and debt interest, Africa's elites have exported 1,450 pounds of capital into overseas banks and investments. ....Every African alive today has received $5,000 in aid. ....Africa has already received the equivalent of six Marshall plans in cash terms."

Kettle speculated that the Brown-Blair interest in Africa was intended to placate the many protesters against globalization expected in Edinburgh in July.} {Realizing it had suddnly become acceptable to criticize African governance -- if not to attribute the incompetence to low IQ (R. Lynn & T. Vanhanen, 2002, IQ and the Wealth of Nations) -- the Daily Telegraph threw in front-page headlines to the effect that oil-rich Nigeria's leaders had salted away for themselves GBP220 billon, the same amount as the aid given by the West to the whole of Africa in the previous 40 years.} {In tortured Zimbabwe, Tyrant Robert Mugabe embarked on what the Times called a "frenzy of destruction" -- pulling down the shanty homes of thousands, apparently for no greater crime than making the place look untidy.}

ETHNIC CLEANSING SUCCESSES

As trouble continued in multicultural Kosovo, Rwanda, Sudan and Northern Ireland, Times Higher (5 vi) offered as examples of soothing separations the interchanges of population between Greece and Turkey after 1918 and the Russians' cleansing Eastern Europe of Germans after 1945. Apparently the British Government did once toy with the idea of solving the Irish question by shifting 500,000 Catholics from North to South in return accepting 200,000 Protestants coming from the South to the North -- the idea appealed to Prime Minister Edward Heath in the 1970s. {Likewise the population interchange between India and Pakistan in 1947 saved many millions of lives and prevented civil war -- even though some 1 million may have died in the course of the interchange.}

LUNIVERSITY OF EDINBURGH DISASTER

Languishing in academic ratings for almost a decade, the LUniversity of Edinburgh suffered spectacular humiliation as one of its Ph.D. students died on Mount Everest while testing ELU-designed equipment intended to help climbers cope with altitude sickness. Dr Robert Milne, 49, was said by his wife to have been extremely fit before leaving Scotland, and his diaries showed him in good spirits until the last.



BUSTED BLONDE

A Norwegian blonde, 32, who brought men home to taunt her husband was jailed for a year after falsely claiming to have been abducted and raped by a man she had in fact targeted in a pub -- who then had to endure a day in jail and three months of feminazish persecution before video footage emerged showing the blonde thoroughly enjoying herself with him in a hotel (Sun, 7 vi). {But sex-mad Merete Underwood, who had cried rape five times before, e.g. after a night of ecstasy with a Stavanger plumber (News of the World, 12 vi), was still not short of suitors -- with one 36-year-old vowing to wed her (Sun, 9 vi).}



PSYCHOPATHY STRONGLY HERITABLE -- Times READERS TOLD

New research (by Essi Viding) on the 3,700 twin pairs registered at London's Institute of Psychiatry found scores on a measure of 'Callous and Unfeeling' to be 80 heritable. High scores on a measure of 'Anti-social Behaviour' were also strongly heritable -- but not lower scores. {Sadly, the Times' reporting of this research -- by female journalist Anjana Ahuja -- was gravely deficient, saying that the high heritability estimates were the result of identical twins being more psychopathic than fraternals. No wonder Britain's great-and-good are so hopelessly ignorant of genetic factors, if even a Times journalist writing on the subject does not know that the relevant calculation compares the twin correlations found within each of the two types of twin!}

{The Times added that another big twin study, at London's St Thomas's Hospital, had shown female orgasmicity to be substantially heritable. Base rates were that 1 woman in 6 never had an orgasm with her partner (1 in 7 when trying masturbation); 1 in 7 always orgasmed with her partner (1 in 3 using masturbation).}



Re: the rush to spend Western money on Black Africa:

I wrote to the Times and phoned the BBC as follows:

There is actually no international correlation between corruption and poverty, as work at the London School of Economics has recently shown. Africa's outstanding problem is low IQ, as documented in the book 'IQ and the Wealth of Nations' and reported in the Times on 10th November, 2003. Since IQ differences are strongly heritable, any Western cash showered on Africa will be largely wasted (like the equivalent of six Marshall plans already given to Africa) unless dedicated to clearly relevant measures (e.g. reducing dysgenic breeding by strict sexual segregation till 18 and increasing breeding by graduates -- even allowing them polygamy)

It is perhaps worth adding that the World Bank has reported: "Econometric analyses show that aid has no systematic relationship to growth anywhere in the world. This may not be surprising in countries where aid is small relative to the size of the economy. It is surprising and concerning in Africa .... where aid flows have consistently reached 10% or more of gross national product in many countries over an extended period of time." {Private Eye had Black African leaders including Zimbotswanique's Pres. Dinkum Banana joining in the appeal to make poverty history for African leaders, promising to spend the cash only on arms, palaces, alcohol and women....} {A Speccie leader (10 vi) expressed well the essential drive of the 'make poverty history' protestors headed for Edinburgh: "It is as if the West's socialists, having lost the argument over state ownership of the means of production at home, have instead identified Africa as a test-bed for their beliefs." But of course the Speccie could not mention average IQ, only "the absence of talented individuals because, through fear of their livelihoods and in some cases lives, they have fled over the past 30 years, taking their skills and œ100 billion worth of wealth with them."}

{The case against splurging on Africa was made excellently on the front pages of the Speccie, 25 vi, and the Daily Telegraph, 25 vi -- both of which recorded that theft by African leaders -- e.g. of Nigeria's oil reserves, even their future mortgaged for UKP20 billion, far exceeded what was given in aid by the lunatic West.}


WHO HELPED KILL VICTORIA CLIMBIE?

As a social work 'tribunal' rescinded condemnation of Black Lisa Arthurworrey, who had let her charge the little Black girl Victoria clock up 168 injuries and die (at the hands of her Black aunt and the aunt's Black boyfriend -- both subsequently jailed for life), Britain waited in vain for public criticism of the political correctness in Haringey which counselled staff to turn a blind eye to the rougher edges of Black culture -- and to fear being accused as racist if they did otherwise. But answer came there none -- especially not from the BBC which pussyfooted around the subject (9 vi 05). Braver -- because of his Blackness and kindred anti-racist credentials -- had been Campaign for Racial Equality boss Trevor Phillips who had once condemned Haringey's indulgence of Blacks' little ways as "racist" (27 iv 04) and the Glasgow Herald's Ruth Wishart backed him up (6 vi 05). Victoria's parents, Francis and Berthe Climbi‚ who had never blamed the pretty junior Arthurworrey, demanding sackings at management level. {Meanwhile, Britain had another Black torture case on its hands -- involving an Angolan girl of 8 whose aunt had felt she was a "witch" and thus needed discipline and disposal in a zipped bag thrown into the Thames (Times Online, 3 vi 05).

The BBC (3 vi 05) promptly allowed a Black church to mount an unopposed defence of exorcism -- apparently to get rid of 'ndoki' which can affect even unborn children in the womb. Police, noting the disappearance of hundreds of Black children from London schools, feared this case might be only the tip of an iceberg of Black child abuse tolerated by UK teachers and social workers -- and indeed police (who prefer hounding motorists, marijuana smokers and internet paedodownloaders to the far more serious problem of Black criminality).}



TOP U.S. RACE REALIST SACKED

Managing Editor at Human Events (America's oldest weekly conservative publication), Kevin Lamb, who in his free time edited Occidental Quarterly, found himself fired after a simple phone call from the affluent Southern Poverty Law Centre complaining of his less than wildly welcoming attitude to homosexuality and gay marriage. Kevin set out the details in Middle America News (vi 2005), bravely concluding with the words of the pioneering social psychologist, William McDougall (1934, Religion and the Science of Life, London:Methuen). Conservatives once defended the importance of conserving America's heritage and cultural traditions, but the rise of "political correctness" says Kevin, has foreshadowed an important point that William McDougall, once argued decades ago:

"The essential expressions of conservatism are respect for the ancestors, pride in their achievement, and reverence for the traditions which they have handed down; all of which means what is now fashionable to call 'race prejudice' and 'national prejudice,' but may more justly be described as preference for, and belief in the merits of, a man's own tribe, race, or nation, with its peculiar customs and institutions -- its ethos, in short. If such preferences, rooted in traditional sentiments, are swept away from a people, its component individuals become cosmopolitans; and a cosmopolitan is a man for whom all such preferences have become mere prejudices, a man in whom the traditional sentiments of his forefathers no longer flourish, a man who floats upon the current of life, the sport of his passions, though he may deceive himself with the fiction that he is guided in all things by reason alone."

Kevin received a tidal wave of sympathy from correspondents to American Renaissance (vi 05). Apparently veteran race realist Sam Francis had similarly been fired from Washington Times after some ethnic complained about his vigorous defence of White interests.}



EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHER BACK-TRACKS FROM 'INCLUSION'

Top Government adviser, Baroness Warnock, 82, caused consternation among idealists and hilarity among realists as she reversed gear on the policy of integrating feeble-minded children (euphemistically renamed Special Educational Needs children) into normal curricula which she had foisted on British schools thirty years ago. She admitted that, in practice, inclusion too often created "a confusion of which children are the casualties" (BBC, 10 vi). {The Guardian commended Mary Warnock's "frankness," suggesting that the empirical case for ditching socialist ideology and restoring special schools and classes -- as urged in The g Factor, 1996 -- is pretty overwhelming. The Daily Telegraph's editor, Charles Moore, properly ridiculed the wish of the "alert and bossy as ever [Lady Warnock], aged 81" to have yet another "government-funded Committee of Inquiry" to rectify her own Committee's errors of 30 years ago.}


USELESS TORIES TRIGGER REFLECTION

As candidates for the Conservative leadership let it be known they were (variously) pro-European Union, pro-the invasion of Serbia, anti-the invasion of Iraq, pro-motorist, family-forgetting and gay, it increasingly appeared that only a programme of national liberalism pitched especially at young people would attract votes. The main novel proposals for kids (and a few others) would be as follows:

FREEDOM -- A NATIONAL LIBERAL CHARTER

1. Legalize all drugs (and tax them up to the hilt). (Prostitution, gambling and drinking were all increasingly freed from legal control in the twentieth century, so why not drugs, the main source of gun crime in Britain? Keeping up taxes would mean a living could be eked out of smuggling by criminals, thus dissuading them from reverting to time-honoured practices of breaking and entering.)

2. Lower the age of consent to Mental Age 14. (Thus allowing kids if IQ 120 to engage in sexual activity from age 12 if desired.)

3. Create a Youth Army for Africa (YAA) which would spend all aid money aimed at Africa.

4. Encourage all youth to undertake service in YAA -- which, with staff seconded from Oxbridge, would provide free degrees to students who stayed five years. (This would begin to break the liberal-left's current monopoly of higher education.)

5. Charge no university fees to girls with babies of their own by fathers who were fully supporting mother and child.

6. Allow all children (subject to parental agreement) a choice of at least three state schools.

7. Allow all children (subject to parental agreement until age 12) a choice of at least three school classes at any one time -- including being allowed to take lessons with older or younger children.

8. Let people choose their own health insurance -- deciding for themselves whether to insure for getting a hip transplant at 95 etc.

9. Return to Preventive Detention for criminals -- i.e. to the American 'three strikes and you're out.'

10. Instruct police to investigate only crimes reported by the public -- thus stopping much mindless persecution of motorists, prostitutes and paedophiles (and, at present, drug-takers).

11. Legislate to allow victims of physically intrusive crimes (against person or property) to defend themselves with force until the criminal is prostrate and incapable of immediate further action.

12. Scrap restrictions on police stopping suspicious persons (i.e. young Black males) to question them.

13. Introduce a statute of limitations forbidding prosecution for events of more than two years ago -- thus switching off blackmail threats against teenagers who have taken drugs, had illicit sex etc.

14. Decriminalize all activity and speech resulting in no direct loss, physical pain or physical harm to a named victim -- again, reducing threats of blackmail and re-establishing free speech and intelligent discrimination and reasonable prejudice.

JOY OF DIVERSITY

The jury in Pop King Michael Jackson's trial decided that his bedding of young teenage boys was a whole lot nicer than the allegations of his mega-rich 'victims' (who had attended Jackson's Neverland ranch for years) and their money-grubbing mothers. Ludicrous paedohysterical District Attorney Thomas Sneddon stormed out of the Santa Barbara court in fury as the verdict was announced. {The sober Christian Science Monitor counseled against "over-reaction" to paedophilia; Times columnist Alice Miles praised the jurors wished Jacko well in re-starting his career; the Speccie's Leo McKinstry sympathized with Jackson and denounced "the hysteria about paedophilia" (18 vi); but the feminastish Guardian was down-in-the mouth.}

SPECCIE COMES ROUND

All too late in the day, the Spectator (22 iv) allowed its occasional (Belfast- and Cambridge-educated) columnist Leo McKinstry (see e.g. this Diary, 2004) to point out that Blacks and Bangladeshis in Britain commit a lot of crimes and disproportionately consume state welfare and housing benefits. Alas, this was too late for the unimaginative Conservative Mr Howard -- stuck by then with claiming to want nothing more than a few unspecified 'controls' on migration, in line with all Britain's other parties.


RACE IS BIOLOGY -- CLAIMS PUBLISHED

Licensed scholarly warfare broke out in the APA journal Psychology, Public Policy and Law (vi 05, full articles) over whether psychological race differences (especially in intelligence) are substantially heritable.

Race realists Arthur Jensen, Phil Rushton and Linda Gottfredson fought their corner excellently, conveniently reviewing the literature (cf. the Cambridge debate (i 97)*) and adding some useful points (e.g. that skin lightness is linked to IQ among South Africa's Blacks -- which it is not among America's Blacks, where lighter skins often came about from historical Black female matings with dull White farmhands during the days of slavery). The hereditarians were opposed by such as Robert Sternberg (sometimes said by me to believe in 666 types of intelligence -- Behav.Res.& Therapy, 1992; Why ignore the g factor? in H.Nyborg, 2003, The Scientific Study of General Intelligence) and Richard E. Nisbett (reviewed by me in Heredity, 2003) who claimed among other things medium-term boosts for children on non-IQ-type tests from Headstart-type programmes involving 8 hours intervention daily

Overall, the race realists had a coherent message with copious evidence and the environmentalists had the scraps; the groups remained respectively the 'stompers' and 'stompees', as amusingly caricatured by Professor Earl 'Buzz' Hunt (Brand, Person.&Indiv.Diffs, 1999) though they strangely neglected to deal with the left's main arguments against the g factor (for the argument and London School answers, see Brand, Constales & Kane, 2003).

Occidental Quarterly reckoned the 60-page Rushton & Jensen article might prove as much of a landmark as Jensen's classic 1969 Harvard Educational Review article, 'How much can we boost IQ and educational attainment?' The race-realist argument was summarized in News-Medical Net, 26 iv, and rejected by the Canadian Broadcasting Company's Stephen Strauss on the grounds that no genes had so far been found for intelligence. Strauss plainly never got the benefit of my March letter to Times Literary Supplement:

"Pittsburgh physiologists reported in 2000 that cognitive impairments are associated with the gene e4; and this gene is at least three times as common in Negroes, Pygmies and Bushmen as in East Asians, with whites falling in between (American Journal of Medical Genetics, Dec. 4; 96(6):707-11". The importance of the strongly race-linked Duffy gene to race differences in cancer and malaria was shown in new work by Cincinnati medics (Occidental Quarterly, 6 iv).


EUGENICS MARCHES ON

A new book by John Glad, Future Human Evolution (downloadable from http://www.whatwemaybe.org), set out a bright future for eugenics and especially noted that eugenics had been (both Biblically and in the 1930's) and still was much favoured by the Jews: the author quoted a contemporary Israeli journalist as saying, "Eugenics is alive and well" [in Israel]. Eugenics was also advocated publicly in 2005 by a leading member of Germany's Free Democratic Party, Daniel Bahr, who criticized the fact that only 40% of Germany's female academics had children.


LIBERAL FASCISM INDICTED

Turning the tables on its hysterical establishment enemies (who freely send the police against it and even its Cambridge-educated leader), the British National Party managed to point out in party political broadcasts on UK TV and radio that they were the only substantial party to back freedom of speech in the UK. At the time, the BNP's Cambridge-educated leader Nick Griffin faced a 17-year jail term for moderate and private verbal criticism of Islamofascism.


ACADEMICS' POLITICAL BIAS REVEALED

The extent of anti-conservative bias in British universities surfaced as Times Higher gave the party affiliations of university-employed parliamentary candidates in the 2005 General Election: Conservative 0; Green 8; Labour 8; Liberal 11; Scottish Nationalist Party 1; United Kingdom Independence Party 1. Times Higher also reported that, for the first time, support for Liberals among academics as a whole was greater than support for Labour.


MULTICULTURALIST CARRIES ON SMEARING

Although Britain's liberal left agreed to avoid calling Conservative leader Michael Howard a 'racist', there were ways round this self-denying ordinance. Thus disgraced ex-CRE drunk -- ooops -- Black boss Herman Ouseley: 'It is racist to try to capture the votes of bigots. .Michael Howard tries to capture votes otherwise destined for the British National Party.' The BBC found another way: its Radio 4 got assorted bishops, social workers and Black community leaders such as Ouseley to say they felt 'uncomfortable' with Mr Howard's tone, which was suggested to be 'subliminally racist'.

{Mr Howard remained firm that he would introduce 'controls' on immigration, but he was non-committal as to their content, saying rather airily that he would leave that to Parliament. Likewise he was not inclined to bravery about taxation, saying only that he would increase state spending by (a measly) 0.3% less than Labour.}


TOP BLACK LEFTIST ADMITS IMPORTANCE OF BIOLOGY

The ex-Harvard homosexual historian Kwame Anthony Appiah (the son of a daughter of UK Labour Chancellor Sir Stafford Cripps and a Ghanaian luminary) surprised leftists by announcing in New York Review of Books (reviewed by Alan Ryan, 28 iv) that a person's 'identity' (and thus values and ethics) would depend partly on their biology and basic nationality. Throwing in stinging criticisms of multiculturalism, postmodernism and 'existentialist creativity', he thus announced he wanted to be called a 'rooted cosmopolitan.'

{Just why he had argued with Harvard President Larry Summers about Black issues and left his Chair of African American Studies and moved to Princeton along with Black radical Cornel West thus remained unclear. The mystery was deepened as Harvard's Black humanities professor Henry Gates resigned from his chairmanship of African American Studies without giving reasons. The African Americanists also lost Black political science professor Michael Dawson to the University of Chicago. Perhaps the whole field was in serious disarray as well as being bitter in particular about Summers' victories over leftists at Harvard? Who can learn any truth in these days of spin and gross media bias? Fortunately the truths of IQ live on... }


GENES MENTIONED

After a dismal British General Election in which the words race, IQ, feminism, birth rate, family and eugenics never got a mention, rock wild child Kelly Osbourne, 20 (and daughter of freak 'Ozzie' Osbourne), blamed her druggie problems (and those of her brother, also in rehab) frankly on her genes (Sun, 6 v).
